Hillcrest in Suffolk

Lovely stay at this fantastic cottage. Just loved the views from the lounge. Welcome pack was well received, the bread and jam were great. The dogs loved the garden and walks just outside. Everything we needed was provided and loved the plums.

5 years have passed since we had the honour of being the first guests to stay here. Coming here has always been a welcome and much needed chance to step off the merry-go-round of normal business life. Never more needed than at this time due to world events. We have seen plenty of sun every day. We will look forward not to our next stay in late summer.

Thanks Julia for another relaxing week (worth the disappointment of 2020 being cancelled). Thank you for the welcome pack, a credit to you, the cottage is spotless and the bed is so comfy, the way we remembered from 2017. Take care looking forward to seeing you again soon, hoping life is back to normal soon.

What a lovely holiday cottage - fantastic accommodation, a lovely welcome pack (most appreciated!) and stunning location. Our friends staying down the road couldn't believe how lucky we are! All the old favourite places visited - nothing has changed too much. Many thanks again Julia.

We both love Suffolk and will be definitely coming back here again! Poppy loved staring at the chickens when back in the house. Great days out walking at Aldeburgh, Southwold, Rendlesham Forest, Orford, Helmingham Hall and Gardens. Lovely couple of hours walking along the river in Walberswick and lunch at the Anchor Inn. Woodbridge and lunch at the theatre. Take care and see you again.

We have visited Southwold for the last 8-9 years and this has been our best stay due in no small part to staying in this beautiful house.

Wonderful accommodation which is truly dog friendly. It has it all, starting with the welcome pack. Its location is perfect and facilities 1st Class.
Lots of opportunities to go for walks without too much driving, an important consideration because we were here during the fuel crisis. Thank you Julia.

Lovely relaxing stay in this beautifully equipped cottage.
With 2 highly energetic dogs, we can highly recommend Tunstall Forest for long walks.
Best view was a barn owl coming over the garden at dusk and sitting on the fence - gorgeous!
We will come back, fallen in love with Suffolk.

Thank you Julia for a lovely week in your beautiful barn. The simplicity and luxury of the decor is delightful. Every gadget you need is provided. Dog friendly to the highest standard, with secure garden and a gate through to the open countryside. Turn left or right out of the drive and you've got a dozen wonderful village and seaside destinations. We can understand why one of your previous guests has returned 10 times. We are already looking forward to our next visit.

Yet another wonderful stay at Hillcrest! We always look forward to our holidays here and it never disappoints. Julia keeps the cottage immaculate and obviously works very hard to keep her guests happy.
The very generous welcome pack always goes down a treat - especially the wine!!
Had some lovely days out visiting Southwold, Aldeburgh and Orford, and long walks on the beach at Sizewell, the dogs love it here.
Lunched at our usual haunts but tried the Fox Inn at Darsham for the first time and would highly recommend it - staff welcoming and food fab!

Yet another wonderful stay at Hillcrest. Thank you Julia for the delicious goodies which were polished off early in our stay! Had some great days out visiting the surrounding area and visited our favourite place Southwold 3 times in a week! Lovely walk along the river at Woodbridge - the dogs loved it. We have so enjoyed our week at Hillcrest. Superb cottage with absolutely everything you need. So clean and comfortable we loved the homemade goodies - thank you!
Oscar and Harry (our Cocker Spaniels) loved the beaches - especially Covehithe - and the forest. They kind of got used to their chicken neighbours - sorry (or the nightly woofing!! - they are not used to seeing people in 'their' garden :)

Having stayed at Harvey's Mill several times over the past 17 years, we wanted to introduce our now teenage children to this beautiful part of the country so have taken our first stay at Hillcrest Cottage (it won't be our last!). Another peaceful and relaxing stay at Hillcrest. It really is a "home-from-home". The dogs find Hillcrest as relaxing as we do! Had a week of good weather and some clear blue skies. What an absolute gem of a cottage! The location is perfect, fabulous views, and so quiet and peaceful. We felt we were in a haven of calm. The cottage is beautifully fitted out and has everything you could ever want inside and out. We are already planning our return visit next year!

What a great relaxing holiday at Hillcrest. We came to relax and recharge and that's exactly what we did. It was so peaceful and restful. Rocky loved the walks and the beach at Sizewell. The start to the holiday with the fresh baked bread, jam, biscuits and the delicious biscuit cake made us feel special. We would love to come again and explore the area more. Thank you!

The perfect place to spend my birthday. Hillcrest is the most well equipped holiday cottage we have stayed in and all the home made treats were wonderful. It is hard to find somewhere that is suitable for both our dogs and my wheelchair and Hillcrest is perfect! We hope to return in the not too distant future. Thankyou!

Good places to walk with a reactive dog Sizewell Beach and Sizewell Woods shortly before the beach, circular walk in Walberswick from the harbour and Southwold Common.
Good places for food Black Dog Deli Walberswick, Magpie Bakery Darsham, Kingshead Yoxford, Plough & Sail Snape Maltings, Parrot at Aldringham.

Felixstowe was enjoyable, watching the sea traffic and Halesworth is interesting.
Leiston Abbey was more than just a ruin, it is also an active music college.
Aldeburgh and Thorpeness are gems.

We had a wonderful week in this luxurious cottage. Everything was perfect, including cake, buscuits, jam etc and our boys had a great time enjoying the garden and the cool floors.
We had lovely walks in Rendlesham Forest - very cool under the trees.
We also visited beaches at Sizewell, Dunwich and Aldeburgh.
The towns were very interesting especially Thorpeness and we had some great meals out.
Julia was very kind and helpful despite being a bit under the weather!

Wonderful relaxing holiday! I and David think of Hillcrest Cottage as our second home. I cannot remember staying in such a beautiful cottage which is so peaceful and has all the amenities that you need.
