Vale View Apartment in Porlock Weir is set within the grounds of Porlock Vale House, an impressive country property dating back to the 19th century. Vale View Apartment is on the first floor of the west wing, which was extended onto the main house.

Access to the property is via a small gated courtyard. The entrance door opens onto stairs up to the first level. The large open-plan kitchen, dining, and living area enjoys lovely views over the garden and paddocks to the coastline beyond. Patio doors also open onto a balcony with an outside table and chairs looking over the front of the property. There are two bedrooms, one with a king-size double bed and one with twin beds. One family bathroom comprises a shower enclosure, bath, toilet, and hand basin.

Garden View Apartment (on the ground floor below) is also let as holiday accommodation and sleeps up to 4 guests. The parking area and courtyard to the entrances are shared, but each property has its own entrance and private outside area.

Dogs Up to two dogs are welcome by prior arrangement. Please do not allow your dog on the furniture or leave it alone in the property at any time. A supplementary fee of £30 per dog will be added to your invoice.

Smoking The property is strictly non-smoking.

Arrival and departure: The property will be ready from 4 pm on the day of your arrival. Please depart by 10 am on the last day of your stay. Please leave the property clean and tidy so we can guarantee it will be ready for our next guests on time.

Changeover days: Vale View is available for week-long bookings from Saturday to Saturday. Short breaks may be available.

Local amenities The harbour is the 'centre' of Porlock Weir, less than 1/2 mile away. There are two restaurants, a pub (all three are dog-friendly), and a range of individual shops such as tea rooms, Exmoor Glass, etc.

The village of Porlock is approximately 1.5 miles away. It boasts three pubs, two grocery shops, a traditional local butcher, a chemist, a cash machine, a petrol station, a hardware shop, a visitor centre, a range of independent restaurants, shops and tea rooms.

Many shops in Porlock Weir and Porlock are open from 9 am to 5 pm, although hours are often extended during the summer. Conversely, some shops also reduce their opening hours out of season.

Minehead is the nearest town, approximately 7 miles away. Here you will find the larger supermarkets and petrol stations (Tesco and Morrison's are both situated on the outskirts of the town and have longer opening hours), most major high street banks with cash machines, plus a range of other shops throughout the town.
