The peace and quiet! The cottage was much better than we expected. The owners were friendly and helpful. We hope to return and will tell our friends about it too.

The best equipped cottage we have stayed in. Very peaceful location with super views. Good facilities in the surrounding area with good road links even though they were mostly B roads.

The accommodation, the owners and the scenery were really wonderful.

We absolutely loved this property and the setting was beautiful. The barn was so nicely converted and a real home from home. The owners were kind enough to share the new animals on the farm with our kids, who had the time of their life running around in a really safe environment.

We had an excellent holiday. The cottage and it's location were lovely. We were made most welcome by the owners and Sykes' booking procedure was faultless. Top marks all round.

The cottage was a tastefully furnished and superbly well equipped barn conversion. It was in a stunning position with a lovely verandah. The location was a perfect base for exploring the local area.

This property was fabulous and in a wonderful country location too, our 2 children aged 4 and 5 loved every moment and I must say that during our stay the owners were so kind and caring. We had a very high level of privacy and the cottage really was super clean in every way possible! I fully recommend this country cottage to anyone, the children want to return to this stunning place as soon as possible.

The Garden Barn was warm and cosy with a good log burner and lovely views from the patio. Tastefully furnished and well equipped, very nice enclosed garden with summerhouse and lovely walks along the brook for the dog.

An excellent secluded farm location with lovely views, complete with sheep and new-born lambs. The accommodation was well beyond our expectations and the owners very helpful and friendly.

Great place to chill out. Staying on a working farm was a new and enjoyable experience. Beautiful views and great location to enjoy the Seven Valley area. Will revisit again soon.

The property was an excellent conversion and overall very snug and a comfortable accommodation. We loved the extremely comfortable beds and top quality bedding.

A lovely cottage situated in a delightful area with a layout that works well with good space. It is furnished comfortably with plenty of appliances and amenities. The owner is very nice, welcoming and allowed our children to use the fields to see the animals, which was something they really enjoyed.

The Cottage was a lovely building with great character from the outside, and the inside had an excellent finish, with a lovely homely feel. Great views and was very quite. Ideally situated for the National Trust properties and West Midlands WildLife Park.

The cottage was really lovely, very warm and very comfortable, everything you might need provided, the furnishings were really good quality, no feeling of scrimping, a lot of thought and care has been put into making it feel welcoming and homely.

The views from the cottage were spectacular, even though this is on a working farm we were not disturbed by the daily routine. The owners house is opposite the cottage, but after greeting us they didn't intrude on our space. The wood burner was a treat for us and was made up ready to light with a basket of logs to hand.

The cottage was homely and very comfortable ever thing you need. The Owner was very nice and accommodating.

Had a nice relaxing holiday, this was a fabulous base. Our second visit was just as good as the first. It was quiet, very comfortable and close enough to other attractions for a great holiday. The views were great and it was an extremely chilled place.

This barn conversion is a delight, and the Williams could not have been more helpful. We fell in love with their wonderful friendly dog!

The location is very convenient for a lot of the South Shropshire attractions, near the Severn Valley Steam Railway and many grand country houses. We really couldn't find fault with anything and look forward to going back there one day.

We had a week at Billingsley and the cottage was excellent. The owners couldn't have been more helpful or friendly (as were the dogs)! The home was of an excellent standard, extremely comfortable and superbly furnished - I'd recommend this to anyone wanting an out of the way, peaceful break where you can sit on the decking and watch the birds and wildlife with a glass of wine. The location was perfectly situated for surrounding villages/towns in Shropshire. We'll certainly return :-)

Lovely place, setting, people.
Only reservation is the single loo in the bathroom.
Otherwise beautiful , tranquil spot, ideal for a peaceful holiday, but in an area where there is lots to do.

Perfect in all aspects, could move in tomorrow. Setting tranquil and so much to see across the valley. So quiet it really made the ideal holiday spot for us. The nearby pub served super food and great beer, Town Crier was a real choice ale. Also so close to Bridgnorth, not to busy but everything available, especially the amazing Severn Valley Railway. Hidden Gem!

A cosy little place to stay. The owners are more than helpful with anything that you need. The cottage itself is full of character with the fire and beams in the ceiling. It is certainly somewhere i'd consider returning to.

Garden Barn is a beautiful, homely conversion, well equipped with everything you could need for a comfortable stay in beautiful surroundings. However, despite reading reviews to the contrary, we found the owners rather unfriendly and cold in their manner towards us which left us feeling distinctly unwelcome.
I presume the problem was the fact that we had our dog Milo with us.This property was advertised as dog friendly but the owners attitude would suggest otherwise.
In conclusion we would recommend this property to those without dogs only or those who can ignore scathing glances from the owners every time they step out of the door!

The cottage was very well equipped and very tastefully decorated.
On arrival, the owners were a bit disconcerted by the size of our dog. (a very laid back Great Dane) and there wasn't an overabundance of warm welcomes.
The driveway to the cottage had quite a few potholes as it was on a working farm. However the quality of the accommodation and the surrounding countryside more than made up for any shortcomings and we had a lovely stay.

First class property in a very private location. The barn had everything that was needed to enjoy a escape from everyday life. Any help and advice was available just across the courtyard at the farmhouse. Superb countryside, fantastic wildlife and views. Highly recommended escape!

This cottage has everything you could possibly need. It really is a home from home. My son enjoyed the fishing very much and it was easy to keep an eye on him from the cottage.

There are so many things to see and do. Close to many beautiful areas for walking and exploring. Shops are not too far away. Lots of nice pubs in the area to eat out .. we managed to eat out every day!

We had a totally relaxing holiday, going somewhere different every day and relaxing in the evening. Highly recommended.

A venue which exceeded our expectations, starting with friendly and helpful directions, a great welcome and even new-born lambs! Ideally situated for the Severn Valley Railway and key Shropshire tourist spots, with lovely hidden village pubs. High class furnishings, scrupulously high standards of cleanliness, ample supplies of kitchen utensils and comfortable bedrooms, not to mention the longest lounge/dining room area we have seen. No wonder many guests regularly return. We can unreservedly recommend this venue.

This is a very nicely appointed cottage. Two couples, plenty of space. Equipment level was very good, plenty of crockery and pots and pans. We wanted for nothing. Outlook from the patio over the fields was smashing ... We didn't have the weather when we where in the cottage, in the warmth and sun, this would be a lovely place to eat.

Mrs Williams was unobtrusive in her welcome and quickly had us in the cottage and settled down. Accessible across the yard in the farm office had we needed anything.
The cottage is fairly isolated. 15 minutes drive on B roads into Bridgnorth. Cape of good hope pub is shut in Billingsly. Need to travel into Highley ( across the ford) for options. Main bedroom is spacious. Second bedroom a little cramped. Living/dining space is big and supporting logs for a fire is a nice touch. Bathroom well maintained. The cottage is warm, the heating works well. Wifi, was hit and miss for us. Not an issue, if you were staying a full week, you'd probably check it out with the owner. We would stay again.

Review based upon a family of four with 2 young children aged 3 and 1.

Firstly, I must mention that that we had a lovely time during our stay at the Garden Barn as there is so much to do in the area. We will definitely be returning to Shropshire however we would be unlikely to stop here again, certainly not until our children are older.

The cottage / barn conversion has pretty much everything you would need, whether you are staying for a weekend or a full week. However the quality of some aspects does let it down somewhat. Firstly I must stress (as advertised) this is situated slap bang in the middle of a working farm, and as mentioned by previous reviewers the front door is opposite the farm office where there are people coming and going regularly. It is not just a working farm but they also run an equestrian centre there also, and again as advertised if you have children or pets for that matter do make sure they are supervised at all times. The space between the cottage and the farm office serves as a car park (sometimes a rather busy one) and a thoroughfare for the owner of the farm who regularly comes hurtling past on his ATV, which can be annoying in the evening when trying to get little ones to sleep.

Inside the barn things are comfortable and certainly very clean. All furnishings and utilities are as advertised and you will not want for anything, although the wifi is pretty much none existent, the only place I could get a signal was sitting at the kitchen table which was ok as we only needed it for a planning our days out. Oh and there is absolutely ZERO phone signal anywhere within the cottage(we are both on EE, not sure what other providers are like).

So on the whole, the location (in proximity to exploring Shropshire and the surrounding area) is fantastic and the cottage would certainly serve most visitors to the area as a great base to go from. However if you were looking for somewhere to relax and unwind / put your feet up I would look elsewhere as I would want somewhere a bit nicer if I was going to spend more time at the property itself.

*We also found the owners to be rather cold upon arrival, and upon departure she seemed more bothered about us writing in her visitors book than actually asking us if we had enjoyed our stay.

We arrived to an open fire a tray of tea and biscuits and a bottle of wine chilling in the fridge - The owners were the perfect hosts and I look forward to our next stay - the countryside surrounding was absolutly idyllic and we enjoyed some stunning walks. The cottage is perfect and having looked through your brochure I feel that Sykes are the best value for money cottage company I have ever used.
I have already recommended you to everyone I come across!

The property and location exceeded what we had hoped for, a country break away from everything. The owners were on hand if needed, but not intrusive, and made our arrival very welcome with a tray set out for tea and biscuits and a bottle of chilled wine waiting in the fridge, a very nice touch, after a very long 10 hour journey from the North East of Scotland.We had access to surrounding fields to walk our dog which she, and we greatly appreciated. I am sure we will return to this property in the future.
