Stable Cottage, Northumberland

We had difficulty in the past finding a comfortable cottage for two, so decided to look at properties for four, and we were not disappointed. Stable cottage was delightful, well equipped, and superbly located for both the Northumberland coast and countryside.

We have already recommended this property to our children, all now married with young families, and would have no hesitation in sending them there. The property was very convenient, with parking at the door, and a lovely garden, safe for even the youngest children. The owners have children themselves, and clearly know what makes your stay comfortable and extra special.

A well kept, welcoming cottage that provided everything we required for a comfortable stay. The beautiful garden was perfect for a family, with plenty of room for children to play safely. We would definitely recommend this one.

Absolutely loved this cottage ,it was very well presented and extrememly cosy.I love an open fire especially in the winter coming in from a windy day on the beach or a walk out in the hills.Great location with lots of good pubs in easy striking distance if you don't want to cook.

The accommodation was excellent with easy access to the a1 helping with the traveling, either going north or south.

A ten minutes ride to Bamburgh, where there are numerous eating places.

Great base for exploring Northumbria. Cottage is really cosy, spotlessly clean and very well equipped.

Very well prepared cottage, lovely character. Nice garden. Very good location for Northumberland coast without the expense of staying closer to Bamburgh (still only a 10 min drive from the beaches though). A shame that there is not more in Belford itself, although the pubs and hotels are Reasonable - just a little lacking in character I suppose.

Well equipped comfortable cottage with a nice sunny patio. Easy access for all of Northumberland and the borders. Owners kindly and quickly forwarded some items we carelessly left behind.

Stable cottage is very well situated for touring the Northumberland coast. It is in Belford which is an interesting village.
The layout is very good, and the beds and bathroom were good. It is clean, quiet at night and the wildlife and farm animals etc were interesting. I do feel though that it needs some TLC.
The DVD was used during bad weather, and proved to be difficult to use even with following the instructions as it didn't work the way it should have done. We are used to DVD players which made this one frustrating to operate.
We didn't like the mix of drinking mugs. Some of the crockery is chipped and needs throwing away. Likewise with some cooking items. The toilet seat needs replacing with a white one. These points are small and easily fixed to make the cottage great again.
Overall, the cottage was slightly disappointing, but it is well located and we enjoyed our holiday.

Very relaxing location and friendly local people. You could easily walk into the village for the shops, pubs, etc. The local area very pretty.

The cottage is a beautiful conversion, and was warm and comfortable. The owners were friendly and helpful. The bed was gloriously comfortable, which is not always the case!

The hosts were extremely friendly and very hospitable. The cottage was fantastic - they have clearly put a lot of work into it and deserve a huge amount of credit for making our holiday a truly relaxing time.

A super, comfortable and welcoming cottage with a lovely private garden.

The cottage is extremely cosy and comfortable but also light and airy. Although it is very close to the A1 it is quiet and perfectly located for exploring the region. There were lots of little touches which we appreciated such as the many lamps, all operated by one switch and the cosy wood burning stove although we didn't need to use it. The garden is a decent size for children to play. We also appreciated the selection of toys and children's books.

The cottage exceeded our expectations. It is ideally situated for exploring the North of Northumberland. Local facilities are a short walk away.

Well situated for touring Northumberland. Miles of golden sandy beaches just a short car ride away.

The cottage was within easy reach of the coast and any were we wanted to go.

Property is quiet, plenty of space, private garden. Property ideally situated mid-way between Berwick-on-Tweed and Alnwick - all tourist attractions within 15 miles of the cottage.

Never having been to Northumberland before, we were not sure if there would be enough to see in the two weeks but we almost ran out of time to visit places. Belford being a nice central place for visits to the lovely coastline and many interesting houses and castles.

The cottage was the perfect place to escape to from the city. The cottage is in a perfect location, Belford is a cute town and the surrounding areas are all beautiful. We had an enjoyable break and we hope to return to Stable Cottage soon!

Where the property was located made it easy to access the A1 so no problems going either North or South. Only a 10 minute drive, if that, to the coast at Bamburgh. Very peaceful surroundings and the owner was very helpful and available.

I particularly liked the comfort of the cottage - I enjoyed each time we returned from discovering the surroundings. I also enjoyed the owners' imagination and the personal and playful touch they have given their cottage. It is a lovely place to be.

The location of the cottage made it easy to go to different locations quickly. The cottage was excellent and the photos on the website don't do it justice.

The locality of the property was ideal for us as we had come to do some painting, so even on the days we could not go out the lounge was ideal for painting, as we had come prepared with photographs. Also when the weather perked up we were well situated to go out and explore all the wonderful castles and beaches.

A lovely, quiet property with lovely owners who were there if you needed them but otherwise left you alone.

Stable Cottage is a beautiful little cottage very well placed near the A1 for getting about the area, and within walking distance of Belford for supplies and amenities. The cottage had a lovely patio and garden which we made use of. The main room was a cosy and comfortable haven after a hard day out enjoying ourselves. There was nothing we did not like, we had a great week staying in a lovely cottage.

The property was very well placed as a base. It was good to have a warm place to stay. The wood burning stove was a plus. It was also good to have such a comfortable place to relax.

We Liked the location, the quietness of the property, safety of the enclosed garden and the fact it was all on one level. Oh, and the sheep. Lovely place and we would definitely come back.

Peace and quiet. The cottage and surrounding area was "away from it all" yet amenities were only a short drive away, beaches, good places to eat. Northumberland is such an unspoilt county.

The accommodation was excellent - inviting, warm and homely. There were lots of interesting places to visit in the local area together with wonderful scenery. Holy Island with views of basking grey seals on the sand banks was particularly memorable.

The property was very clean, neat and tidy. The owners have obviously given a lot of thought to the 'little things' which reflects their consideration for guest's comfort and convenience. The wood burning stove was brilliant! One of the best properties we've ever stayed in.

This is the third time I have been here and I enjoyed it just as much as before. The cottage is nice and warm inside and we loved watching the hedgehog that visited the garden at night.
