Lyndhurst Cottage

This was a very different type of holiday for us,not many would want to visit the north east for a holiday during the winter months.
We found the cottage very comfortable and warm and supplied with everything needed for a comfortable stay.
We were hit with extreme weather conditions inc heavy snow,although this did not take away the enjoyment of our holiday,just added to the overall good feeling of the place.
We do hope to return soon.

local pub very good and friendly with nice pub food,weekly parking ticket bought from information centre well worth it.

A pretty cottage in a lovely quiet village with excellent bus services to surrounding places of interest particularly alnwick, Berwick-on-Tweed and Bamburgh. We hardly used our car. I'm only sorry that its such a long way from where we live on the south coast.

We stayed at Lyndhurst cottage for a week in June,and had a wonderful
holiday,the weather was perfect,the cottage was perfect the location was perfect,what more could you ask for.We were suprised with how much there was to do and see we will have to go back again to see the things we have missed and we will be staying at Lyndhurst Cottage

We had a relaxing autumn week here. Weather cool and damp much of the time but cottage was always a warm, welcoming haven. It was very well furnished and facilities were superb. Would strongly recommend this.

Beadnell Hotel was about a 4 minute walk and had excellent food and drink.

Just one problem with this break - we should have booked for longer. Beadnell is a lovely quiet village on the beach and a short walk from the harbour. Great base for exploring Northumbria. Cottage is in a great location with lovely garden. Welcome tray of biscuits, tea, sugar etc on arrival with fresh milk in fridge. Fresh cut flowers in vase was a nice touch. Cottage is spacious and more than enough room for us (2 adults and 2 older teenagers). Suitable for 4 adults or families with older children.The owners had thought of and provided everything you could possibly need. Beds and sofas extremely comfortable. Had plenty of sunshine to enjoy the sun room and garden. Plenty of crockery and kitchen equipment. Dresser full of board games. Excellent standard of decoration and spotlessly clean, attention to detail. Bedding and mattresses etc spotless. Storage heaters plus electric heaters in every room. The cottage is on two levels with three steps but fine for the able bodied. Utility room with washer etc. Two spacious en-suites to each bedroom. Could not have asked for more and would highly recommend. Best cottage we have had the pleasure to stay in. Very sad to leave, could quite happily move in tomorrow.

The location of the house was excellent for what we wanted to do on the holiday, which was mainly walking. It was only a short journey to various locations which we wanted to explore. The sun lounge and garden were ideal when the weather was good.

Would have no problem re-booking this cottage - settled in very well - began to feel like home.

Lyndhurst cottage is excellent overall and in just the right location, the local pubs are great with children and serve good meals. We can highly recommend it.

The bungalow was a delight! It was situated in a quiet part of the village yet only 5 mins walk from the beach and it was lovely to sit out in the garden in the sunshine for breakfast. Beadnell is ideally situated for all the tourist spots in North Northumberland and we shall definitely be returning in the future! Thank you.

Cottage has a very pleasant sun room/dining room. Wonderful garden and patio area, suitable for all ages. Drive with gates for safe parking and for children. Craster Arms nearby, good food and beer all day everyday.

Excellent facilities in cottage. Local pub Craster Arms serves good food, excellent sunday lunch. Close to local amenities I.e shops and post office.

Good location, very well equipped property. Separate en-suite for each bedroom is a plus.

The cottage was lovely as was the surrounding countryside. We liked it all.

Very comfortable, two ensuite shower rooms very useful for larger group. Plenty of places to go if weather makes beach too cold- Beamish , Alnwick, Holy Island ,Berwick.

The garden and sunroom really make this cottage, and Beadnell is a great base for exploring the region. I have no criticisms at all of Lyndhurst Cottage, thoroughly excellent.

The cottage was very good so that meant everything else paled into the background. Lovely warm sun room.
Locally there are two pubs for evening meals in the village.

An excellent cottage with every amenity you could wish for. Beadnell is very convenient for the main attractions We would certainly recommend to anyone.

Lyndhurst Cottage is in a good position and is well equipped. The instruction file and local attractions file were useful, as were all the clearly labelled keys.The tea and biscuits on arrival were really welcomed. We would recommend the cottage to our friends, as we have done already!

First time we have stayed in a cottage. Found it very comfy and relaxing. Will certainly consider doing it again.

Closeness to great walks in the surrounding countryside and coast.

The sun room was fantastic and the location was good. It was very clean on arrival and we liked the complimentary tray!

The sun room was excellent; light, airy and very relaxing, perfect for admiring the garden and relaxing in.

We have visited Northumberland many times before but this year we had the best weather ever (wall to wall sunshine) and stayed in the best holiday cottage. The beautiful, sheltered suntrap of a garden was a real bonus. We will be back next year.

The cottage was well maintained, a beautiful garden which was a suntrap and the facilities in the cottage were to a very high standard.

It was a fabulous mix of traditional cottage and modern living with every mod con you could want. The lovely "sun room" at the rear of the property was the gem in the crown for us, being the area we used the most and the beautifully kept quiet and private garden was an oasis of peace and quiet after a days walking, golfing or sightseeing. We will return to Northumberland and will make for Lyndhurst cottage again knowing it's the home from home that helped make the holiday the success it was.

Extremely well equipped and well placed cottage.
We particularly enjoyed the sun-room. The proximity to a very interesting and beautiful beach really made this an excellent holiday for us.

The area and very comfortable accommodation.

The situation of the cottage was excellent for getting round the area generally. Close to the beach also and in a small village. The cottage itself was brilliant - so comfortable and in a quiet area. Northumberland is beautiful.

Very good for cycling, many minor roads affording good views of Bamburgh Castle and Farne Islands. Attentive and supportive owners who live in the village.

Cottage close to local shops and attractions, five min walk to beach and friendly locals. Lindisfarne, Alnwick Castle and Gardens within easy reach a good base for attractions. Useful comments in visitors book.

Our second visit to Lyndhurst and we enjoyed it just as much as last time. We will be back again next year.

First visit to the area. Plenty to see and do, even in the winter. We had some serious snow but that added to the enjoyment in one way but concern in another.

The sun room and garden really make this property; the availability of garden chairs and a barbecue were added bonuses. This was our third visit to Lyndhurst Cottage and we fully intend to return. It has an excellent location and Beadnell is a beautiful village with one of the best beaches in Northumberland.

Lyndhurst Cottage has become a firm favourite of ours - this is our third stay. As a base for a holiday in Northumbria, Lyndhurst cannot be beaten.

Lyndhurst Cottage was in a good location and was very well equipped, every detail of requirements had been very well thought out and provided. The decor and cleanliness was first class. We look to return in the future and would recommend the cottage to anybody.

Our fourth visit to Lyndhurst Cottage and it remains a firm favourite with all the family. Warm and cosy, well equipped, with a fabulous garden and just a short walk from Beadnell Bay and the harbour. A perfect base for relaxing and exploring Northumberland.

We have stayed in many Sykes cottages over the years and never been disappointed, but Lyndhurst Cottage has got to be our favourite. It's just right.

We particularly liked the location of the cottage. It was nice to have the conservatory for sitting and dining in.

The cottage was well laid out with a good use of space. The Sun Room was a bonus.

A nice home-from-home.

This was the first time we had stayed in a cottage and it has been much better than we both expected. The problem now is keeping this standard up. The cottage was just what we wanted and more. The weather was also a great help.

The Beadnell Hotel serves excellent food just 5 minutes away, beach about 8 minutes walkd, clean sand. It is so central to places to see Bamburgh, seahouses, Hocwick Hall, Alnwick, even Newcastle by bus.

Lyndhurst Cottage was very comfortable and the garden was well laid out and private. The sun lounge was comfortable and spacious. Beadnell is a perfect location, having a superb beach and all attractions are within driving distance.

Real wow factor on arrival. Just as described, which is not always the case. Lovely base to explore the area from. Would recommend very highly.

There was plenty to do & see around Beadnell, the Cottage itself was like a home from home.

The cottage was very homely, comfortable and in a very beautiful area (although one of the locals we spoke to did ask us to keep this a secret!). It was in walking distant to some fantastic beaches, a local shop that appeared to stock everything and pubs which did great food too. There were plenty of places to visit and a week was not enough time to do this thoroughly. The cottage was well stocked with everything you could possibly need during your stay. An excellent, well-thought-out holiday cottage.

A lovely comfortable cottage with a very pleasant garden in a beautiful location.

The cottage was so homely and was very well equipped, with everything you could possibly need and more. A lovely place to come home to after days out exploring Northumberland. We had a very enjoyable week and would highly recommend this cottage

The Cottage was within a few minutes walk from the lovely beach and a pub & hotel both doing meals. A convenient location for visiting other parts of Northumberland. It had a delightful garden and a very quiet location. Comfortable beds and sofas.

The property was centrally position in a lovely village with very near access to the beach. It was a busy village with a beautiful old church full of history. The area was very quiet with no disturbing noise but had amenities such as a village store/newsagents and fish and chip shop There were plenty of walks round the village and on the beach with an excellent local tavern to visit for coffees/teas and a great garden for sitting out. Enjoyed it very much.

Everything about the property was superb! Lovely area, would not hesitate to recommend, 11 out of 10!

AMAZING! This is the best cottage we have stayed in. An excellent location and a lovely cottage and garden. It was very well equipped, clean and comfortable with fantastic beds, a fabulous sun room and attention to detail. We could not have asked for more. We wished we had booked for longer.
