Bytheway Cottage

Helpful owners who provided a lovely welcome and useful information pack. Lots of additional extras at this property. Very close to village centre. Only draw back is located on a major road.

We stayed for two nights on Friday 31 January and Saturday 1 February having to return Sunday evening due to school on Monday. Despite dismal weather we were warmly greeted by John and Sue and made most welcome, more so with the delicious home made scones and a bottle of wine. the cottage is superbly appointed, lovely and warm and stocked with everything you could need - plasters, bath oils, tea, sugar, coffee, biscuits - nothing was overlooked, The cottage is ideally situated for visiting nearby attractions. In our two days we visited the White Scar cave (very good), Hawes and the Wensleydale cheese factory, the Ingleton waterfalls walk and Kirkby Lonsdale. The cottage itself is next door to a good pub - the Masons Arms with log fires and cask ales. Other reviews suggest this to be a good eating place but on our first night we decided to eat at the Craven Heifer having read good reviews. We were very disappointed and would not recommend it.
We would certainly stop at the Bytheway Cottage again.

An absolutely superb property with everything and more than we'd hoped for. No problem with traffic noise despite main road location. Great location for exploring Dales. Highly recommended.

Spacious and high standard accommodation, good welcome, good value for money. Grand children enjoyed having their own rooms.

Homemade scones, tea, coffee, sugar, milk and wine on arrival; all very much appreciated. Owners made us very welcome. Fantastic base for exploring Yorkshire Dales and Lake District, if you travel a bit further.

Furnishings were of a high standard and owners were very welcoming and informative. Appreciated all the little extras that were thought about and provided.

The warm welcome was a pleasant surprise, and so were the personal touches provided by the owners. The cottage was on the main route to all the places you would like to visit in Yorkshire.

High standard of accommodation in a great location for exploring the various attractions of the Dales.

The location of the cottage was very good for exploring the Dales and the Lakes. The standard of the cottage was superb. Bytheway cottage was very well equipped and the special touches by the owners ( milk, home made scones, wine etc) were very welcoming.

The attention to detail in the cottage made our stay very comfortable despite the very wet and windy weather. We'll be back to see the sights we couldn't this time!

Brilliant cottage furnished to a very high standard throughout. The wine, scones and chocolates were lovely and we would recommend this lovely cottage to anyone looking for a home from home property to stay in and explore this lovely area.

The owners went the extra mile to make us feel at home and helped us in anyway they could. The cottage included lots of extra little treats which you would not even get at a hotel. Attention to detail was fantastic.

The cottage was spotlessly clean, very modern and in a good location to explore the area. It was very useful (having a baby) to have a separate utility room with washer, dryer, boiler and sink - and a little toilet off. A small paved garden with a table and chairs was enough for us, and it was just a ten minute walk in to the village. We also liked the fact there were tea-towels, dishcloths and a washing-up brush provided (sometimes they're not), and we were given nice treats on arrival.

The accommodation had the best of everything and lots of unexpected extras such as a sewing kit. It was in an ideal location for getting out and about. Would definitely recommend.

The welcome pack of two bottles of wine and scones was a lovely surprise. Cannot fault the standard of accommodation and cleanliness. The owners met us on arrival and were very friendly.

Byetheway Cottage was lovely, it was like being home from home. Gorgeous area and we all had a fantastic holiday. Would definitely stay here again.

The location of the cottage is excellent as you have access to the Lake District, the Yorkshire Dales and Lancashire. The cottage is situated next door to a pub which serves very nice food and in plentiful portions. The village is very quiet so the location is great for a nice relaxing holiday.

Fantastic location to tour the area from, lovely cottage and fantastic welcome from the owners, decent friendly pub right next door too. Love to return in the future.

Recently updated to very high standard. Very well equipped with modern conveniences, utensils and crockery. Nice and clean and tidy. Owners were extremely welcoming and helpful. Handy location for activities around Ingleton.

This is a lovely area, lots of interesting things to do and the village, also interesting with good facilities (eg places to eat). The cottage is well-placed and comfortably furnished. This is the second time we have stayed in the cottage in the school summer holidays.

Cottage true to description. Very well situated to tour Yorkshire Dales, and the lakes. Heated swimming pool in village within walking distance. Pub right next door with excellent food.

The cottage was furnished and decorated to a high standard. Bedding and towels were of good quality, and everything throughout the cottage was spotlessly clean. Ingleton is a lovely village, and provides a good base to explore the surrounding area.

A beautifully cared for cottage in an ideal location for touring the local area as well as the Lake District and Lancashire. The owners were very welcoming and made us feel at home from the moment we arrived. We loved the cottage and we look forward to returning for a longer break later this year.

Personally we have nothing bad to say about By The Way Cottage. Everything was just as described and a good reflection on the people who own it. All in all a wonderful holiday which we would like to repeat sometime.

Ingleton is a fantastic base for exploring the Yorkshire Dales and Bytheway Cottage is an extremely comfortable cottage. The cottage is spotless and the welcome from the owners is great. The cottage is extremely well equipped with everything you could want and more.

The owners were great. The property is well maintained with all possible needs catered for. Overall a terrific cottage.

This was without doubt one of the best, if not the best cottages that we have had with Sykes. A well situated cottage to explore the wonderful area with plenty to see and do.

We enjoyed a lovely and relaxing holiday at Bytheway Cottage. With walks right from the front door and pub and restaurants within a short walk too. There was everything you could possibly want in the cottage and it was spotlessly clean.
