Bwythyn-y-Saer

An elegantly presented stonebuilt cottage, Bwythyn-y-Saer has maintained much of its farmhouse charm but with a contemporary touch and high-quality modern furnishings.

Through the entrance, guests are greeted to a sleek, meticulously maintained sitting area with brown leather sofas, backing into a dining space with a natural wooden table seating up to six. Through the archway in the open plan build is a modern fitted kitchen with all electrical appliances.

Two doorways from the kitchen lead to the bedrooms, one master with multiple windows for letting in natural light and one twin with bunk beds ideal for children.

Outside is a private lawn and patio area, with garden furniture suitable for alfresco dining. From the lawn, guests get a full view of the surrounding farmlands and unfurling hills in Snowdonia, with walking trails and opportunities for mountain biking nearby.

Being based near Abersoch, there are many fun activities on the coast, including several water sports, from surfing to sailing. If you would rather take a relaxed approach to your holiday, Abersoch’s beaches are ideal for bathing in the sun, or you can pay a visit to the many pubs, cafes and restaurants.

A haven of peace and quiet

A lovely cottage set on the edge of Abersoch and within easy walking distance if you don,t mind walking up a hill!
THe cottage was pleasantly furnished and well equipped.

Very modern and comfortable

Everything was of very good quality and we thoroughly enjoyed our week. The only criticism we had was that we had to pull the double away from the window in order to access it from both sides! Apart from that tiny niggle it was perfect.

Excellent cottage

Excellent cottage with everything you need when you have a toddler in tow. Personally I thought the walk back from town a little steep and quite far and the location was very windy (being on top of a hill). If you have good calf muscles and want to stay in a beautiful, well equipped and well thought through cottage then this is definitely the right place.

Great holiday

We stayed in this cottage in abersoch and found it to be very nice and welcoming with a lovely view of fields to the back. The cottage was clean and comfortable and quite spacious. We found that the kitchen had everything we needed and the location of the cottage was about 10/15 minutes walk from the abersoch village. We really enjoyed our stay here and hope to return sometime in the future!

Lovely accommodation in a scenic part of Wales

This cottage is in lovely countryside surroundings having a field to the rear where you can often see cows or sheep grazing. The inside of the cottage was kept to a very high standard and quite spacious. We found we had everything we needed and often enjoyed sitting outside in the garden to have a sunbathe and relax. The owners were very helpful with comprehensive directions to reach the cottage. We also enjoyed the walk into Abersoch which doesn't take too long from the cottage. We really enjoyed our stay here.

Quiet and relaxing

My partner and I stayed here for 3 nights over a weekend
The accommodation was very clean and tidy and had all kitchen equipment that was required including high chair/microwave/dishwasher
There is back yard with a small BBQ and a small front garden looking onto a field with table and chairs
The garden is kept tidy
The cottage is about 5 minutes drive from Abersoch Town centre and has parking for 1 car
The walk however from the Town is up a hill all the way and can take about 1--15 minutes so not for people with mobility or health issues
The TV in the lounge is very small and there is a DVD player

Family holiday

Rented this property via Sykes cottages. Not at all clean. Cobwebs and spiders in every room. Worst of all cobwebs in the kitchen. There were stains on the floor in the bedroom were our 6 and 4 yrs old slept. At the age children have a tendency to play on the floor. Unfortunately it was very difficult to let them as there was dust, dirt and dead insects on the floors. There was stains on all the soft furnishings the lounge area. The sofas had seen better days for sure. There was a horrible visible stain at the back of the radiator in the dining area. The place looked like it hadn't been cleaned for a number of weeks. Plus the house could do with a fresh lick of paint. Also the external dustbin seemed to be a shared bin with other properties and was overflowing with rubbish bags from the day we arrived and until we left. Which is not ideal at all for a self catering property.

Great location and lovely property. I don't actually think the pictures did it justice.

The cottage was well converted and very comfortable. The view across the field was lovely as it was full of baby lambs. The location was peaceful and it was an easy walk into Abersoch. Many beautiful walks especially around the coast and places of interest in the surrounding areas.
