Accommodation at Cherry Cottage comprises:

The entrance hall leads to the Cloakroom, which has a WC, shaver point, and wash basin. The adjacent living room has three-seater settees, Freeview TV, DVD, video, dining table, and chairs.

A beamed kitchen/ diner is well fitted, with beautiful limed oak units, a cooker with gas hob, electric double oven, microwave, integrated dishwasher, full-size fridge/freezer, and washing machine/tumble dryer. The dining area has a large pine table to seat at least 8 with matching chairs, a child's high chair, and a small TV.

• The large master bedroom has a 5-foot bed and an en-suite shower room with a power shower, basin, and WC. It is ideal for use as a family room and has plenty of space for a cot.

• Double bedroom with 4ft 6in bed, en-suite shower room, power shower, and vanity basin.

• Twin bedroom with 3ft beds and a basin.

• Bunk bedroom with full-size bunks and Velux window.

• The bathroom has a bath (with power shower over), basin and WC.

All the bedrooms have windows overlooking the courtyard and the bunk bedroom has a Velux. Duvets, linen, and towels are supplied, and the beds are made up in advance. A travel cot and high chair are available. Gas central heating, electricity, and telephone for local and incoming calls are included in the price—free Broadband with cable socket or Wi-Fi.

The cottage is available for arriving guests from 3:00 p.m. on Fridays and must be vacated by 10:00 a.m.

Outside this splendid holiday cottage in South Devon is a gravel area with a bench seat, stone walls and shrub and flower borders. An allocated parking space for two cars is within the courtyard, with additional spaces behind Buckland House stables. Guests have full use of the cottage and shared 1.5-acre gardens.

Start Bay and Slapton Sands

Start Bay reaches from the Mew Stone at the mouth of the River Dart, encompasses the famous Blackpool Sands, Slapton Sands, and Torcross, and ends in the rocky cliffs that curve around the Start Point lighthouse.

The coastal villages of Stoke Fleming and Strete are within a mile of the sheltered cove protecting Blackpool Sands. Wooded cliffs flank this lovely cove, and the shingle beach has attractive facilities, including the Venus café, windsurfing, canoeing, and sailing hire. Blackpool Sands is one of the best beaches in Devon and is extremely popular with families.

Slapton Sands extend for over 3 miles from Strete Gate to Torcross with the unique coast road set on the shingle ridge and having the freshwater Slapton Ley on one side and the sea on the other. The Ley has an abundance of flora and wildlife and is a designated National Nature Reserve. The Dart Valley -This unique Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty is particularly popular with sailors, artists, fishermen, and those who enjoy the peaceful tranquillity in a truly rural environment.

Boat trips from Dartmouth take you up the river past Stoke Gabriel to the bohemian market town at Totnes.
