We have a wide selection of holiday cottages for cycling holidays across the UK, including luxury holiday cottages, eco-holiday cottages, and dog-friendly holiday cottages.

Holiday homes suitable for cycling holidays are those that offer special facilities for cyclists or are located in an area surrounded by quiet country lanes, bridle paths and car-free cycle paths. Look for properties with special facilities such as:

  • Lockable bike storage
  • Outdoor hoses for washing down muddy bicycles after a day of trail riding in winter
  • Local maps or guidebooks featuring cycle routes
  • Details of local bike shops for repairs or to replace cycling essentials left at home!
  • Details of bicycle hire services for those unable to squeeze all the family's bicycles into or onto the car.

Look for holiday homes near cycle paths or on designated cycle routes such as the National Cycle Network managed by Sustrans national network of cycle routes.

Holiday Cottages in Cornwall and Devon both have easy access to an abundance of scenic cycling routes. An excellent route for the whole family to enjoy together, the Camel Trail follows a disused railway line for 18 miles between the fishing port of Padstow and the village of Wenfordbridge. It passes through glorious countryside, including parts of mysterious Bodmin Moor, before joining the riverbank for the approach to the coast. The market towns of Bodmin and Wadebridge are good stops for a bite to eat. Not too far away, the Tarka Trail is an excellent route for exploring the green, unspoiled countryside of North Devon on two wheels. Covering 40 miles, it is the country’s longest off-road cycle path. Following in the footsteps of the region’s best-loved fictional character, Tarka the Otter, you will cycle through wooded combes across high, open moors and along the banks of gentle streams. The pretty towns of Barnstaple and Bideford and Lynton and Lynmouth on Exmoor all offer a variety of cycling holiday cottages.
