Hillarth Farmhouse, Wisbech
Hillarth is a large semi-detached Edwardian Farmhouse 1.5 miles from the Fenland town of Wisbech. Set in the countryside in a quiet lane it has a large garden with ample parking.
The accommodation comprises a fully fitted kitchen on the ground floor with a hob, oven, microwave, fridge freezer, dishwasher, and washing machine. A shower room with toilet and wash basin. A large dining room with an open fire, Freeview digital television, and a music system with a compact disc player. A pantry. A lounge with Freeview Smart digital television, DVD player, electric fire, and unlimited Wi-Fi. A family bedroom with one single and one double bed.
The first floor comprises two double bedrooms, one with a travel cot and a fully-equipped bathroom.
Wisbech is a Fenland market town with fine Georgian architecture in The Brinks, and Crescent displays the town's wealth of heritage. Peckover House ( National Trust ), Octavia Hill Museum, Elgoods Brewery, and gardens are open to the public.
Wisbech is an ideal base for touring the area, with many places of interest close by Peterborough with its fine Cathedral and Nene Valley Steam Railway, King's Lynn, Ely, one of the smallest cities in the country, with its magnificent Cathedral, Cambridge with its historical colleges, botanical gardens, and punting on the river Cam, and Stamford with its 17th—and 18th-century stone and older timber-framed buildings along with five medieval churches.
Visit the North Norfolk coast area of outstanding beauty, including Heacham, 30 miles; Hunstanton, 31 miles; Wells-next-the-Sea, 44 miles; Cromer, 59 miles; and Sheringham, with its heritage steam railway, the "poppy line," 56 miles.
Stately homes to visit include Oxburgh Hall, 27 miles; Houghton Hall, 30 miles; Holkham Hall, 30 miles; Sandringham House, with its fine country park, 25 miles; and Burghley House, 33 miles.
The wildlife reserves at Welney RSPB are 16 miles away, and the Ouse Washes RSPB is 19 miles away in the heart of the Fens, which forms the largest area of washland in the country.
