The Retreat in Hebden Bridge

Large families or groups of friends looking to escape everyday life need search no further than a stay at The Retreat, a remote countryside cottage set at the head of an unspoilt valley overlooking the nearby market town of Hebden Bridge, West Yorkshire.

This large child-friendly cottage is a stone-built farm property offering splendorous views of the spectacular Yorkshire Dales. It has biomass-fired underfloor heating and three wood-burning stoves to stay comfortable during chilly evenings.

After a long day exploring this region, the main sitting room offers leather seating while enjoying the wood-burning stove and Smart TV. Guests seeking privacy can sneak off to one of the snug rooms, one of which includes a wood burner.

The lavish kitchen, complete with stylish fittings and granite worktops, allows you to prepare meals in style and wash up while looking over the nearby fields. The breakfast table sits next to a wood burner, making the ideal place to enjoy your welcome pack, whilst the dining room features exposed stone walls and a TV.

A single bedroom and sumptuously tiled shower room complete the ground floor. Upstairs, four well-presented bedrooms allow up to 12 guests to spread out comfortably.

One is a family bedroom with four single beds, which can be twin or super king-size double upon request. Another is a king-size room with a walk-in wardrobe and en-suite contemporary shower room. A family bathroom with an elegant free-standing bath and separate shower completes The Retreat’s interior.

Outside, a luxury hot tub sits amidst a large enclosed courtyard and lawn, with a cabin nearby to towel off and relax with a glass of bubbly.

The Retreat sits alongside the 2014 Tour de France route at the top of the “Cote de Oxenhope,” with many walks direct from the property onto the adjoining moorland and the Forest of Bowland Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.

Nearby Hebden Bridge offers many high-quality amenities, whilst Haworth, eight miles away, features the splendid Parsonage Museum, commemorating the famous Bronte family.
