Captain's Cottage

2-Bedroom, Thatched Seafront Cottage That Welcomes Pets. Sleeps 4.

Situated on Quay Street in Minehead, Captain’s Cottage occupies an enviable mid-terrace position, just a stone’s throw away from the harbour and directly opposite the beach. Dating back to the 18th century, this characterful cottage boasts a wealth of period features, including a striking inglenook fireplace, beamed ceilings, and doorways with limited height in places. Despite its historic allure, the cottage is thoughtfully equipped to ensure guests a comfortable and relaxing stay.

Stepping from the pavement, a few steps with a handrail guide you down to the front door, which opens into a welcoming hallway spanning the length of the ground floor. To the left, you’ll find the cosy sitting room with a TV and plush seating, while the kitchen and dining area await to the right. A convenient ground-floor cloakroom featuring a toilet and hand basin can be accessed externally. Ascending the stairs at the far end of the hallway leads you to the first floor, where both double bedrooms offer captivating sea views. The family bathroom, comprising a bath, separate shower unit, toilet, and hand basin, completes the accommodation on this level.

Key features of the accommodation include:

* Sleeps up to 4 guests

* Two double bedrooms, both boasting sea views

* Family bathroom  with bath and separate shower unit

* Cosy sitting room with Inglenook fireplace

* Modern kitchen with dining area

* Rear terrace offering delightful sea views

* Bed linen and towels provided

* Wi-Fi, heating, and electricity included

* Check-in from 3 pm, check-out by 10 am

A well-behaved dog is welcome for a supplement of £20, although it’s worth noting that the cottage lacks a traditional garden, with only two terraces available. A grass area opposite the cottage and a dog-friendly beach across the road both offer alternative outdoor spaces for furry companions to explore.

Note: Please be aware that due to the age and layout of the property, Captain’s Cottage may not be suitable for guests with limited mobility. In some areas, the terraces are accessed via stone steps without handrails, making them unsuitable for unsupervised children.
