Sleeps 17

The Old School House & Cottage, Bishop's Castle

This is a beautiful pair of holiday homes situated just a short walk from the centre of the historic market town of Bishop's Castle.

The Old Schoolhouse is a detached, early 18th-century traditional Georgian house. The adjacent cottage is a detached, stone-built, single-storey barn conversion cottage, once the old surgery. Both are set in 1.5 acres of grounds.

The Old Schoolhouse is a wonderfully spacious building set over three floors. It provides traditional, character accommodation, which combines with modern facilities, including two very large TVs, to provide a house of real merit.

Three zip/link beds give this Bishop's Castle holiday home flexible accommodation to suit the whole family. At the same time, the dining room, with its cosy open fire, seats 17, so everyone can gather together in the evening for a delicious meal, then retire to the sitting room for fun and games or watch a film.

The farmhouse kitchen in this beautiful Shropshire holiday home benefits from an Everhot cooking range with four large, individually-controlled ovens, great for rustling up a tasty snack after a long day out and about.

The large walled garden beside The Old Schoolhouse is ideal for relaxing in the hot tub, enjoying a drink or stoking up the barbecue after an exciting day. In season, guests also have access to the vegetable garden.

The adjacent Cottage offers cosy ground floor accommodation for three and is perfect for a couple, a small family or even the grandparents to enjoy some quiet time after all the excitement of a day with the extended family.

With its own private garden area and full kitchen and sitting room facilities, it's a beautiful place to escape for some 'me time'.

This Bishop's Castle accommodation sits in a beautiful location, with an award-winning real ale pub and restaurant on the doorstep and all of Bishop's Castle's amenities less than a five-minute stroll away.

This is a wonderful location for walkers, cyclists and birdwatchers, with Offa's Dyke and the Shropshire Way close by.

Explore the Clun and Kerry Forests, the lovely South Shropshire Hills, medieval Ludlow and Shrewsbury, Stokesay Castle and the Ironbridge Gorge World Heritage Site with its ten museums, which are all within easy reach.

With the private hot tub and the shared all-year-round tennis court, these two adjacent properties provide charming, spacious accommodation, perfect for a family gathering or a large group of friends who wish to enjoy this beautiful part of Shropshire.

A Haven of Peace and Tranquility

The owner made our stay both easy & comfortable and everyone we came into contact with made us feel very welcome. The property was just perfect for our requirements and felt very much like a home. The gardens were stunning and very well kept, a haven for peace and tranquillity. The village was an ideal base to be able to go out in the evening and find somewhere to eat

Perfect For Our Reunion

This property was perfect for our medical graduates of 1972 reunion. The house was homely, the garden really lovely. All facilities were wonderful and the house was perfectly equipped for catering for large numbers. For those who enjoyed walking, there was a good choice of routes.

A Fantastic Cottage

A fantastic cottage with more than enough room and facilities for 17 people without it feeling cramped. The owner was very friendly and helpful and the house is obviously well looked after. The hot tub and gardens were great.”
