Ideal autumn break
Ideal base from which to tour the North York Moors, Cleveland Hills and coast or further north for Teesdale and Hadrians Wall. With 2 dogs we wanted somewhere close to the sea and 5-10 minutes puts you in the centre of a 5 mile stretch of sandy beach. Saltburn in one direction and Redcar in the other are 2 lovely seaside towns and not over commercialised.
The cottage is ideally located for a 2 minute walk to supermarkets, take-aways, pubs and plenty of other services whilst with private car parking at the back so hassle free with or without a car.
The cottage itself was clean, warm and comfortable, perfect for a week away.
Marske
Really lovely cottage, superb value and good location
Great central location
The cottage was fantastic, had everything you needed and catered for everyones needs. Don't be tempted to shop at a large supermarket before you get there coz there are great independent shops in the centre (5 min walk) such as a green grocers and butchers. The train station is another 5 minute walk in the opposite direction making it handy to visit Middlesbrough, Saltburn and other lovely places without worrying about parking. It is really close to the beach and you can walk to Saltburn Pier. I love the village, the people are friendly and i would actually like to live there!!
Victorian Holiday
Victoria Cottage was ideal for us ie. 2 adults and an elderly dog. It is well equipped with everythig necessary for a very comfortable holiday. Ther is a small enclosed yard at the rear and a car parking space exclusive to the cottage.
It is very conveniently situated for shops and a recreation ground directly opposite the cottage, where we walked the dog each evening.
Although Marsque itself does not have many facilities it is close to other seaside places eg, Redcar, Sandsend and Saltburn.
It is also reasonably close to the Dales National Centre. we would recommend it to any family without young children.
Warm and comfortable - a welcoming little house
We had a lovely stay at Victoria Cottage. It was well equipped and welcoming. We appreciated the decor and the art on the walls and found nothing missing that would have made our stay more comfortable. as we had a large car the narrow entrance to the parking space was a bit of a challenge but it was possible to get up and down without scraping (just). Getting the keys was easy and being able to take our dog was a definite bonus. The house was nice and clean when we arrived and the beds were comfortable. All in all, a perfect home from home (our daughter arrived before us and did put away a lot of the ornaments, cushions, etc which had made it look a bit old fashioned. The house looked better without them).
Home away from Home
We found the Victoria Cottage a great place to stay and would highly recommend it. There was a couple issues such as turning on the TV a bit of an issue and also the washing machine but once we got the hang of it all was well. We also found the kitchen fully equipped and spotless. If a person was expecting wifi and internet service they would be disappointed as it is not available.
Loved Marske
Property very well equipped and comfortable. Owner very considerate. Parking good. Local amenities good. Many places of interest easily accessible.
The cottage was a good base to tour Yorkshire and the surrounding areas. There are excellent facilities nearby and the beach was only a short walk away. The cottage was well equipped and very clean.
Good location, a few minutes walk to a large sandy bay, excellent base to tour the Cleveland Hills and coast, the North Yorkshire Moors and the High Pennines. Plenty of facilities within walking distance.
The location was perfect, close to the beach and local facilities. Lots of walks in the immediate area and the railway station is only five minutes away. Lots of eating places locally, offering real value for money. Thanks, we'll be booking Victoria Cottage again very soon!
This is the nicest property we've stayed in so far, my wife and I would happily live in it permanently. Enough said. The Village amenities and nearby beach are fantastic - we all (dogs included), had a great week despite the sometimes dodgy weather.
Very welcoming cottage, comfortable and clean. Many interesting places to visit and wonderful beaches.
Lovely cottage in a great location and near excellent beaches.
Another lovely week at Victoria Cottage. The location is great for the local beach, shops and pubs.
A most enjoyable week with good weather. All about Victoria Cottage and Marske was fine. Useful base for Tees Estuary, bird watching and for photographs of a rare industrial and post industrial landscape. All services within very easy walking distance. Would visit again.
Excellent, 5 star! We've been 3 times and have booked again for September. Very homely and comfortable cottage in a great location for amenities and the beach.
The cottage was very comfortable and convenient for shops and eating places. The dog enjoyed the very convenient field across the road. All in all a very pleasant relaxing cottage for a holiday within beautiful countryside. To top it all we had lovely weather.

Lovely, clean cottage, very centrally located. The pubs were only a minutes walk away. Fantastic walks for the dog very close-by and a lovely beach as well.
Very nice house, spotless on arrival and a welcoming tray of tea along with a very large size packet of biscuits! Everything we needed. The hot water/heating worked efficiently.
It was our fifth visit to Victoria Cottage and we are already booked for September. We love the homely feel of the cottage and it is always immaculately clean. It's also in a great location for local amenities and the beach.
The cottage is spacious and well-equipped. It is well situated for the town and the beach. The back yard looking out over the allotments is very pleasant. The outside toilet is very convenient, and the shower is splendid!
The property was excellent, very central for touring Yorkshire Coast. We found the property excellent, it had every thing we needed and the kitchen was fantastic. We found our stay very relaxing.
