Sunnycliffe House
Sunnycliffe House is situated between the North Devon seaside villages of Woolacombe and Mortehoe; set high on the cliff, the house has fantastic panoramic sea views over Woolacombe Bay and the 3 miles of golden sand that stretches to Putsborough and Baggy Point.
This North Devon Coastal Cottage has its own private drive and parking for two cars. You access the house via steps and enter a small porch, handy for coats and boots after a day on the beach. The ground floor is mainly open-plan, with the kitchen to the left, which is well equipped with a built-in electric oven, a four-ring hob, a dishwasher, a microwave, a four-slice toaster, and a small dining table. Behind the kitchen is a useful utility room with a washing machine and ironing board and a small bathroom with WC and sink.
The central part of the ground floor has a lovely bright lounge with two leather sofas, a tub chair and bean bags, and a TV and DVD. To the side of the lounge is a dining area with a pine table and chairs for six people. The best part of the house is the large terrace and side balcony overlooking the sea and beaches. The terrace has a picnic table and chairs, two sun loungers and the side balcony has outdoor sofas, chairs, and two small coffee tables.
The second floor has three bedrooms, all with incredible sea views, a large king-size double with a wardrobe, chest of drawers and an en-suite bathroom with shower sink and WC. The second double also has a chest of drawers and a wardrobe. The third twin room has two single beds, a large chest of drawers, and a lovely balcony with countryside and sea views. A family bathroom with a bath has an overhead power shower, sink and WC.
Whilst the house is on the edge of Woolacombe, it is still only a 20-minute walk to the town and the 3 miles of sandy beach. There are smaller coves along the route, with Barricane Beach being doubly famous for its rare collection of small conch shells swept onto the beach from the Caribbean. It also has an excellent Shri Lankan restaurant that serves lovely curries from 5-7 every night, which you can eat on the beach.
The beaches around Woolacombe have some of the best surfing in the world. The area is a Mecca for surfers who surf all day and enjoy the great pubs and bars in Woolacombe and Croyde at night. The beach at Woolacombe has been voted Best Beach in the UK many times and has won awards for cleanliness and safety.
