Howle Hideaway

Howle Hideaway is a real gem hidden in the depth's of the Herefordshire countryside.

The house has been beautifully decorated throughout to a very high standard and was a real 'cosy' place to stay as a couple. The property had a very large open plan lounge and kitchen with the bedroom on the first floor (via a quite tight spiral staircase).

The owners of the property were very helpful and were willing to help out when we encountered problems with the weather (it snowed very heavily when we were there). There is also a lovely pub about a mile away which does grea food.

All in all a great little hideaway for a romantic getaway from it all!

This property has it all. Well appointed, comfortable accommodation combined with a lovely setting with excellent views from every aspect. The owner greeted us warmly and we were provided with a welcome pack containing local produce. The area is ideal for walkers or for exploring the area by car. I cannot think of a single way this property could be improved. However the spiral staircase to the bedroom could present problems to less mobile visitors.

This was our first time to this part of England and the property was ideal. Everything was as described and it is a great location for exploring the surrounding area such as Symonds Yat, the Forest of Dean and other places on the River Wye. We went cycling and walking in the area.
The owner was very accommodating and all our needs were met. They even ensured we had good weather.
Do take heed of the comments in other reviews about the spiral staircase and we were able to use the owner's own wifi which we were grateful for.

The owners had refurbished the property to a very high standard. Everything was pristine and very good quality. We loved all the little extra touches. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend it. We'd love to stay there again. It was just so lovely that we felt we could live there!

The accommodation was modern, yet welcoming. We loved the location, it is in a good position for traveling around.

The hosts were very friendly and generous, leaving us a starter pack of wood for the fire and a welcome basket of treats!

Peaceful quiet location based on an non working farm. Unspoilt views of superb countryside. Upon arrival, we found a super welcome pack containing cider, welsh cakes and various local chutneys. An ideal spot to unwind.

Outstanding property!

Beautiful area to be out and about in - cycling, walking and visiting local towns (Ledbury is a particularly pleasant place to visit). And the cottage was probably the best we've had so far. We also had the delights of the Perseid meteor shower and the Severn Bore on the same evening!

We rate this cottage at the highest possible level. Everything was superb and the owners were charming. We fully intend to re-visit in due course.

The cottage is perfect for a 'get away from it all' break. Highly appointed with fabulous panoramic views in an isolated position. The property is located in a rural/hilly location with fabulous views over the surrounding valleys and hills. Extremely quiet and ideal for relaxing and walking.

Relaxing and peaceful location with wonderful views. Close to the town but far enough away from traffic noise. Great pubs and restaurants a short drive away. The overall standard was completely beyond my expectations. Would definitely go back to this cottage.

It was in the country but near to all villages and towns. The wildlife and scenery viewed from the cottage was fabulous. It was spacious and yet cosy and the hosts were very friendly and amenable.

The accommodation and hosts were both fantastic. Luckily the weather was lovely so we had a chance to enjoy the large garden which backed onto open fields/ woodland. The location was ideal for a quiet getaway and it would particularly suit the rambling fraternity as the Forest of Dean is close by.

This cottage is the perfect hideaway for a relaxing, comfortable holiday. The cottage itself is finished to a high standard and has everything that you could need. There was walking from the doorstep, cycling in the nearby forest of Dean, stunning scenery and lots of wildlife. If you want to get away from the stress and strain of everyday life then you wouldn't find anywhere better than Howle Hideaway.

The cottage was an excellent base for visiting the Wye Valley and surrounding area. It was in a very peaceful location and benefited from a lovely large garden and patio area. The owners were friendly and thoughtful, even taking in our laundry when it started to rain!
