Lovely
High quality, modern decor, very warm accommodation. Great views, very peaceful.
Good location for visiting Angelsey and North Wales.
Sharp narrow turning with bend, but not a problem.
Owners next door and very helpful.
Short circular walk can be done fron house.
Very comfortable cottage with lovely views
The cottage was well-equipped, nicely-furnished and very comfortable. The lovely views over the Menai Straits were gorgeous and we had excellent weather to appreciate them fully. We enjoyed our holiday very much.
Only 3 less-positive comments:
The '5 mins downhill walk' was over-optimistic re. timing and it is pretty steep. (We are fit and regularly walk in the countryside but after doing the walk on the first evening we didn't repeat it.)
Access by car involves negotiating a very sharp left turn. We coped but wouldn't recommend it for a nervous driver. The 'written directions' mention a 'sharp left turn' but I would add the word 'very' to emphasise that.
We were disappointed at the 'selection of pubs,restaurants...' as there was only one pub within a short walking distance of the cottage and the meal we had there was very poor. Your description of Y Felinheli suggested a more thriving community with a good selection of eating places. We would have liked to have eaten out in the village more often.
A nice week in North Wales with a very comfortable Cottage
A perfect place to stay:
- the cottage is very good and high-class equipped
- it is very comfortable for 6 persons
- the people who let the house are living beside. They are very friendly and cooperative if there is a question
- the area around the cottage and the views are very lovely (the sunsets are sensational)
- it is a good place to start activities as e.g. to Snowdon, Canaerfon, Bangor, Anglesey, Conwy, the Ffestiniog Railway
- also the weather was ok - most of the time dry and sometimes a bit of sunshine. We had a nice week.
Fab - home from home - lived up to the previous reviews
The owners are welcoming, friendly and helpful. The cottage is spacious, very clean with all the facilities to make your stay relaxing. The views are absolutely stunning and we had great weather too which was an added bonus. There is lots to do in the area (even in March). We were sorry to leave.
Did what it said on the tin
Premises was fine for us,clean & tidy, but lacking that "special" feel perhaps
Great views over the Menai and some lovely sunsets, ideally situated for exploring Northern Snowdonia, close to Anglesey,Llanberis,Beddgelert and Bangor
Fantastic cottage ideally situated for North Wales Exploration
My father and I booked a weeks holiday at Penrallt Cottage and we fell in love with the cottage as soon as we arrived. The weather was fine and the views across the Menai Strait were fantastic. The cottage had everything that we needed for a relaxing week's holiday.
We met Osian the owner who was very polite and friendly and gave us useful advice on nearby attractions, eateries etc.
Penrallt is situated ideally for a base to explore and enjoy North Wales and Anglesey.
The weather did turn colder/wetter towards the end of the week, then it was the end of September/beginning of October and it never stopped us getting out and about. Only disappointment was getting on the steam train for the top of Snowdon in sunny weather, but by the time we reached the summit it was a complete white-out! We will just have to come back again!
All in all a brilliant week in a lovely cottage in a beautiful country!
We loved it!!!

Really enjoyed our short break in this lovely part of north Wales. Cottage was immaculate with plenty of space to relax. Would recommend a visit to Newborough beach and forest - lots of space to explore. The Beacon Climbing Centre is also well worth a visit.

A lovely cottage, thoughtfully equipped in a beautiful setting.
The property was very comfortable and well equipped. The views from the property are beautiful. The owners were friendly and helpful.
The accommodation was of a very high standard throughout.
The property was suitable for the whole family - elderly parents, children in their twenties and us 'middle-agers'! The views were stunning and constantly changing. There was something to see even when the weather wasn't as good as it might have been. The bungalow itself was such a pleasure to stay in or return to after a day out.
Our expectations regarding the people, the country-side, the attractions in combination with our place to stay, the location of the cottage and the cottage itself, were fulfilled!
Spacious property that was quiet, yet within easy reach of everywhere, radio in the kitchen was ideal.
A lovely single storey cottage with fabulous views. Owners were very pleasant. The property was very handy for places all over Snowdonia.

It was a lovely cottage in an excellent location with outstanding views. The location of the cottage meant that the many attractions of North Wales were all within a short driving distance. The good weather at the beginning of May was an added bonus and overall this was a cottage that we will have to return to.

Great location, plenty to see and do within a few miles of property.
The owner was there to greet us and was around if we had any issues, we had none, and to give local information. We would highly recommend.
A lovely well kept cottage with good sized rooms. It felt like home and the views over the Menai straights are very good.
It is a wonderful view from a wonderful cottage. This has been the highlight of our stay so far in the UK. We love the look of the old exterior, but the interior is modern clean and very comfortable. The location up on a hill is great, and makes it feel as though we are miles from town, yet the drive to shopping and dining is short. The location is also convenient to Caernarfon and Conwy, and we even made a quick run to Holyhead. I would suggest that those travelling to the UK spend less time in London and more time here in North Wales, we wish we had!
Great views and convenient location for visiting Anglesey and Snowdonia.
It was our second visit so that shows we really liked the cottage. The views are excellent and the cottage is warm and comfortable with everything you need. We had a lovely stay. The owners were very welcoming.
We fell in love with the cottage from the moment we arrived. The views across the Menai Strait were fantastic, and the cottage was ideally placed as a base to explore North Wales and Anglesey. The cottage had everything we needed for our week's break, and we will definitely be returning!
A fantastic cottage in a beautiful part of North Wales. Stunning views across to Anglesey and easy access to all that Wales has to offer.
The cottage is very thoughtfully laid out and it is easy to live in. The location (close to castles and not far from a super beach and Waitrose supermarket ) suited our needs. The view from the cottage is beautiful. The owners are helpful and accessible - not that we had any problems.
Excellent property in a super location!
The views were excellent, the owner was friendly and helpful, we felt very much at home in the cottage.
Very comfortable, good location for a wide range of interesting places and attractions and fine views. Warm, spacious property with 2 bathrooms and a good well equipped kitchen. Very quick response to replace a light bulb and adequate parking, all on one level.
