Woolacombe holiday cottages and beach apartments provide visitors with a wide choice of self-catering holiday homes and beach apartments to rent all year round. Whether seeking a traditional seaside summer holiday with the family, a true 'surfers paradise' on the North Devon coast or a weekend retreat out of season, Woolacombe's magnificent award-winning Blue Flag beach, overlooked by steep dunes stretches for 3-miles from Woolacombe to Putsborough. It is regularly voted among the UK's Top Ten Beaches in the national media. Even so, at the height of summer, there will always be space to lay out the picnic blanket, play a game of beach cricket, swim, bodyboard, and surf in the waves. Woolacombe is a quirky little village with trendy bars and restaurants, such as The Red Barn, cafes with surf shops, boutiques, and a great chip shop - the Woolacombe Fryer.

At the village end of Woolacombe's beach in summer are swing boats and beach huts for hire, while further along, it is just wide, pristine stretches of beautiful sand, excellent for sandcastle building, which is also dog friendly all year round. It's the perfect seaside destination for families and surfers. There's much to be done, from Crazy Golf and pitch-and-putt to a walk along the breathtaking South West Coastal Footpath. Most of the holiday cottages in Woolacombe, being west facing, mean they enjoy sea views and beautiful sunsets over the Atlantic Ocean.

There's more to Woolacombe than just its Beach (and Putsborough Sands at the far end). To the East lie the small, rugged coves of Watergate Bay and Barricane Beach (overlooked by luxury beach apartments) with a mixture of sand, rocks and lovely rock pools. In summer, the cafe above Barricane Beach sells Sri Lankan Curries on the beach: bring your chairs and candelabra! Beyond that lies the little village of Mortehoe with two excellent pubs and a lovely walk around Morte Point peninsula - watch Atlantic rollers crash onto the rocky shores below.

There are also some lovely seaside holiday cottages and beach apartments along the coast road with superb sea views between Woolacombe and Mortehoe for those who would like to be just outside the bustle of Woolacombe but near enough to get to the beach in a matter of minutes from their holiday cottage. The South West Coast Path runs along the coast, offering lovely walks in the direction of Ilfracombe to the East and Croyde Bay to the west. A short drive to the east lies the Exmoor National Park - a wonderland for walks across heather-clad moorland or exploring riverside trails along idyllic wooded valleys.
