After your meal, head to the sitting area with a brick-feature fireplace and a flat-screen TV to catch up on your favourite show.

Milton consists of about 60 dwellings just a mile from Repton, the former capital of the Anglo-Saxon kingdom of Mercia and home to local pubs and a fish and chip shop. Nearby Calke Abbey, run by the National Trust and Melbourne Hall, make for wonderful day trips, or venture to the Peak District and take in the beauty of the national park. The large and historical village of nearby Repton, often described as one of Derbyshire’s most attractive villages, has a Saxon crypt in St. Wystan’s Church where Saxon kings were interred.
