Millstream

Romantic Waterside Bolthole For Two on the North Cornwall Coast

A former corn mill turned into a romantic rural retreat cottage, Millstream is set in St. Nectan’s Glen, a beautiful, densely wooded valley in North Cornwall. It offers cosy studio accommodation for couples on holiday along the Atlantic coast.

From the moment guests step through the quaint arched door of this rural retreat on the North Cornwall coast into the open-plan studio, they’ll be swept away by this lovingly decorated Tintagel holiday cottage, which retains its original character. The sofa converts into a full-size double bed, while the fully fitted kitchen, TV with FreeSat and Freeview, and night storage heater are all easily accessible.

Millstream also has a secluded patio surrounded by trees and flowers in the spring and set next to the stream bubbling by.

St. Nectan’s Glen has been designated an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. It is situated between the villages of Tintagel, home of the legendary King Arthur’s Castle, and Boscastle, with its quaint quay.

Guests can take walks through the bluebell woods, laze on the shoreline at the bottom of the valley or take a short drive to the nearby coastline and surf the waves.

When booking or enquiring, please tell us you found this North Cornwall holiday cottage near Tintagel on the My Favourite Holiday Cottages website. Thank you.

Location

Reviews

lovely and kind of magical

The place was how described and exactly what we were looking for.
Surrounded by the gardens and the woods, and also being close to Tintagel, the Coastal path and other nice places to visit, we really enjoyed our stay.

Magical

A brilliant place to stay. The enclosed setting is superb. I am Disabled and found everything close at hand and user friendly.
The only negative point is the Fridge, or lack of freezer space.
The out buildings have a washing machine and T/Dryer and there is more than enough room for a small chst freezer. That would be excellent and would not have to worry about buying fresh meat etc., Storage would not be a problem as there is only Mill stream Cottage and two other houses. I can't see a problem with putting ones food in a bag/box with ones name on it.

Apart from that then the cottage is wonderful. A pure haven of peacefullness and tranquility. We love it.

Local amenities are good.

A little dream in a lovely place

This little mill is a unique and cosy place to stay. The surrounding woods, the great garden, the little stream and the nearby sea create a beautiful atmosphere. Everything is very well prepared and lovely.

You get what you see

We already filled in a reveiw and sent it by post. But here we go again.
The service we received was very good. We loved the home and the location was beautiful. The fridge was too small and we would have liked more storagespace for shoes and wardrobe. The bed was sagging in the middle.
We loved the small round little cottage and its situation. The service was good and we would recommend the cottage to our friends.

Easy walking distance to St. Nectans Glen , Rocky Valley and Bossiney Haven made this quaint little Millhouse Idyllic for a fuss free break. The towns of Boscastle and Tintagel were only a few mins. away.

Absolutely beautiful x

Lovely week in beautiful little 1 room cottage totally idyllic with gorgous surroundings. We were left to our own devices and had a much needed peaceful week. Ideally situated between Tintagel and Boscastle, we had some lovely walks too including up to St Nectans Glen.

Quite get away

Looks amazing when you first see it. You have to duck to get through the door then the damp smell hits you its a cute little cottage but needs an make over desperately the fridge is so small no freezer not even an ice box and with the good supermarket and fair distance away it's inconvenient to say the least. The bathroom is so dated and grubby you have to force yourself to use it. That said the little outside space is lovely and private. The walk into town is dark no paths or street lighting on the first uphill part of the walk. But it is a good base to visit the surrounding area Boscastle is beautiful with great places to eat.

There is a wonderful walk that runs alongside the stream directly from the cottage. The gardens and surrounding area were beautiful and so peaceful. Also, the attractions that we went to see were fairly close by, e.g. the Eden Project

Miss Natar

Gorgeous location. Rocky valley and coastal path walks were amazing. Excellent food and service at local restaurant, Trevillet Mill.

Miss Stockley

There were so many things to see, however, we didnt feel pressured into having to fit everything in.

Miss Sharp

Everything was perfect! The cottage was very well-equipped and comfortable, the owner was helpful, but not intrusive, and the surrounding gardens, stream, glen and walks from the doorstep were beautiful. We had a lovely holiday - many thanks and well done both to the owner and to Sykes!

Mrs Print

We loved the very unusal style of the property (hexagonal). The area was extremely picturesque, with a babbling brook along the edge of the property. The gardens and wood were a joy to walk round, which lead onto a public footpath where you could walk through a beautiful wood where the river continued to flow.

Mr & Mrs Smallpeice

Cleanliness and comfort are very important to us - we found both in your cottage - plus the charm - it is well organized and compact. Very good.We appreciate the personal approach of the landlord who was very helpful and welcoming.

Mr Slocombe

Absolutely adorable. The grounds and surrounding environment were impressive. An idyllic "getaway"...we would definitely go back!

Miss Clarke

Ideal property for two, well positioned for touring North Cornwall and Devon.

Mr Wrenn

A wonderful holiday

Mr Donworth

The property was exactly what we were looking for ie. private, romantic and positioned in a beautiful valley.

Mr Watkiss

We found the setting and description of the cottage to be accurate and not overstated. We had an enjoyable holiday and were very happy with the cottage accommodation.

Mr Giddings

We definitely enjoyed our time in the cottage. Lovely surrounding, beautiful garden and the woods behind, everything was very well taken care off. The millstream running by gave a special touch. We will go back there.

Mrs Unger

It is very peaceful and quiet. The garden and the valley are beautiful. The cottage is totally cosy. It has been a beautiful holiday.

It was a lovely restful place. Enjoyed every minute of it.

Miss Rappold

The idyllic setting in conjunction with the relative closeness to the village and the coast.

Mrs Hill

We loved the idyllic seclusion of that cosy mill with only the sounds of the stream in the background. One could not imagine that the sea was so close, but only a quarter of a mile away the impressive cliffs begin ...

Mr Hoch

The owner welcomed us on arrival. The cottage was smaller than we anticipated but we soon got used to it and enjoyed our stay. The grounds were absolutely wonderful and what made them even better was the fine weather we had throughout our stay.

Mrs Eden

The picture and description suggested the property would be lovely but it exceeded all expectations. The house itself was charming and beautiful, the sea was a short and interesting walk away as was a spiritual waterfall with a meditation area and Tintagel itself with a very impressive castle ruin. Absolutely perfect for a romantic break, thank you.

Mrs Osborne-Smith

Gorgeous location, peaceful and tranquil and would highly recommend this property.

Ms Lawford

The cottage and surrounding were very peaceful and beautiful.

Mrs Wormulls

This really is a charming little cottage. The sofa-bed was more comfortable than our own bed at home. The location next to the millstream is lovely and it is well situated for walks to Tintagel. The owner/manager was very friendly.

Mrs Hughes

The cottage was situated in beautiful surroundings. The private drive leading to the Halgabron Mill cottages ensured peace and quiet. The woodland walk, accessed through the owners property to St. Nectan's Glen was lovely. A beautiful waterfall can be observed for free at Bossiney Cove, just a 10 minute walk from Millstream Cottage! Overall my wife and myself thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the cottage and the picturesque coastal walks, so much so that we have already provisionally booked the same cottage for a week in early June next year.

Mr Ebelthite

Location is fabulous, very peaceful, easy access to the seaside and forest. The stream at the back of the property was particularly appreciated, great background noise!

Miss Ray

It was in a peaceful location and having the water flowing outside the cottage was a lovely feature to the place. The owner was very accommodating and friendly.

Ms Call

The cottage was lovely, and the surroundings were very peaceful and beautiful with lots of walks. We enjoyed it all very much!

Mr Townley

A very good base from which to access Cornwall's attractions and scenery.

Mr Ingram

Peace and tranquility in lovely accommodation for two with stream running at side and in beautiful surroundings, couldn't fault it.

Mr Harding

Very quiet and peaceful, and a very picturesque setting. An ideal setting for artists, and for anyone wanting to get away from the hustle and bustle of every day life.

Mrs Inman

This is the cutest little cottage for 2 people who like to get cosy. Set in idyllic woodland, it has a secluded sun-trap patio behind. From the delightful garden, you can walk through to a footpath which joins the main path to St Nectan's Glen. The owner was very welcoming and helpful. The whole area is stunning and, after a full day of coastal footpath walking, it was a privilege to return to a tranquil and beautiful setting.

Ms Whiteside

Exactly what it says on the tin, its rustic charm and fairy glen location is charming. The owner was very helpful and it had everything we needed, even WiFi! Perfect for a close to nature romantic break.

Mr Burden

The cottage was a delightful gem and the location was excellent with great access to fantastic coastal walks and other quaint villages. Scenery is amazing with delightful hidden coves.

Mr Sweeney

Really loved the peaceful location of this property and the stunning scenery. The gardens were beautiful and it was a real place of peace and reflection. Loved sitting out one night listening to the stream going by and watching the bats, and a tawny owl coming down to land on the roof next to us before swooping down the stream out to sea was stunning.
