Glintings

Glintings is a charming holiday cottage located in the picturesque village of Polperro in South Cornwall. With its stunning views of the village and harbour, this detached and spacious 3-bedroom cottage can accommodate 2-6 guests (and one pet) and is perfect for a self-catering seaside holiday in Cornwall with family or friends any time of the year.

The cottage features a large, bright, sunny lounge and dining room on the ground floor, which is cosy and warm in cooler weather thanks to a wood-burning stove. In the summer, you can open the French windows to let in the warm sea breeze and enjoy the magnificent views and scents of the garden flowers. The room comes with a 40-inch TV, DVD player, Freeview, and a dining table that can seat up to 8 people. This is the perfect place to relax after a day exploring Cornwall’s many beaches and attractions.

On the ground floor, there is also a well-equipped kitchen where meals can be prepared indoors or outdoors. The mature hillside garden runs alongside the house and leads to a terraced patio with outdoor dining tables and chairs.

On the first floor, you will find three large bedrooms, all with beautiful views. The bedrooms include a dual-aspect master bedroom overlooking the harbour with a king-size bed and fitted wardrobe, a twin bedroom with two single beds and a fitted cupboard, and a bunk bedroom with full-size bunk beds and a fitted cupboard. The large family bathroom has a bath with an overhead shower, hand basin, and WC.

Polperro is open to visitors all year round and is an excellent base for exploring Cornwall’s many attractions. The village boasts narrow streets lined with ancient fishermen’s cottages, interesting shops, historic inns, restaurants, and snug tea rooms. Polperro Beach is just a 10-minute walk from the cottage, while Talland Bay is a pleasant one-mile walk away. It’s the perfect location for a memorable and relaxing holiday in Cornwall.

Please note that there are 50 shallow steps to reach Glintings. This is because houses in Polperro were built this way to take advantage of the view. As such, the cottage may not be suitable for the elderly or infirm. However, parking is available at the foot of the steps for unloading and pick-ups, and overnight parking for a large vehicle is available at Violet Farm, about 300m further up the hill.

The price of your stay at Glintings includes bed linen and towels (beach towels are not provided), a travel cot and high chair, all utility services and central heating (oil), Wi-Fi superfast broadband, and locally sourced logs for the wood-burning stove. One dog is welcome by prior arrangement.
