The village of Crantock dates to the 5th century and lies south of the River Gannel, a tidal river with ferries operating on a seasonal basis. Bathe along the expansive dunes and beach during the summer months, or enjoy a pint and a meal at the Old Albion pub in an attractive 400-year-old thatched building.

The nearby resort towns of Newquay and Perranporth are short drives away and boast shopping, beachcombing, and golfing opportunities.
