The West Somerset Railway - Steam and Scream!
When it comes to entertaining children, nothing quite excites them, like large machines, weird animals, and goodie bags. The Steam and Scream spoo-oo-ooky evening promises to keep everyone happy or terrified, whichever emotion floats your haunted boat.
The night will begin with a train ride from Bishops Lydeard for a trip through the haunted countryside of Somerset till you end up in Stogumber, where you can enjoy an hour in the creepy station gardens until the ghostly train re-appears to take you back. Some of the things to do include fireworks, the Exmoor Zoo Animal Roadshow and, of course, Goodie bags.

It doesn't get much more remote than this! Glenuaig Lodge, near Strathcarron, is a large, dog-friendly cottage with fantastic wildlife and views.
South Molton
A bright, modern barn conversion in South Molton. There is nothing scary about this property! With a pool to relax in and your pets allowed, you can hide the nightmare in peace and quiet.
Oxford Castle Apparitions!
So enough hiding away. Let's get spooky in here—and I mean really spooky! This is not like those children's games; it is for the hardcore scare addicts out there!
Oxford Castle is said to be the most haunted building in Britain.
When it comes to scares, however, Terror Tuesdays really take the maggot-infested cake. Running throughout October and November, for just £8, you can be let loose in a haunted house with no boundaries. From crawling grotesque monsters to a real-life crypt, all within the genuine prison hospital. This is not for the faint-hearted. Are you feeling up for it? Are you sure? You can always change your mind if you want to wimp out; we won't judge you!
Okay, well, if you say so. You'll want somewhere warm, cosy, and soft to rest your weary head, and we have just the selection for that!

Burford
If you need a little more space for your pack of terrors, this large and luxurious eco-chic Cotswold stone self-catering cottage sleeps 10. It used to sleep 11, but that room is now bricked off after 'the incident'. We figured it was better not to ask.
