The Laurels, Bishop's Castle

The Laurels is a large holiday cottage in the heart of the popular rural market town of Bishop’s Castle in Shropshire, one of the most popular locations for taking a country holiday in the area with picturesque rural landscapes of North Herefordshire as well as Shropshire, including the photogenic Stiperstones all easily accessible. As such, Bishop’s Castle is in an attractive holiday location, and if you want to hire a large, quality and character holiday property,

The Laurels is a Grade 2 listed cottage that should tick all your boxes. The interior of The Laurels Combines originality and history in many rooms, not least the fantastic oak-panelled dining room, while there are also some great elements of modern design within this spacious holiday property in the England-Wales border country.

There are six bedrooms sleeping fourteen guests at The Laurels in Bishops Castle and four bathrooms. It’s a pet-friendly cottage, happy to welcome up to 2 dogs and has off-road parking for a maximum of three cars. The beautiful oak-panelled, elegant dining room has a large wooden dining table and an open fire. It is here that you appreciate the history and beauty of this property. The living room is lighter, with high ceilings and chairs set around the fire, and the garden room offers instant access through French doors to the garden with rattan chairs and sofas, allowing you to enjoy the views in the summer and keep dry and warm in the winter.

The kitchen at The Laurels is tastefully finished with a table and chairs in the centre, a focal point in a country cottage-style cooker with a double electric oven and hob, and a microwave for the cooker. All appliances as standard are available, including a dishwasher, washing machine and tumble drier, and a fridge freezer. There is a utility room with plenty of space for the washing machine and drier.

The six bedrooms at The Laurels are set over three floors, including three family rooms with standard or king-size double beds and a single bed. There are two more standard king-size double bedrooms and a twin bedroom. As you can see from the images, all the rooms are spacious, and one of the family rooms has its own ensuite shower room. There is a family bathroom with a shower over the bath and an additional second-floor shower room.

To the rear of the house is an enclosed back garden, a peaceful space to relax, eat out and play games.

A Truly Golden Occasion

We booked the holiday to celebrate our Golden Wedding Anniversary with all our family around us, it was the perfect place for all ages. We all thoroughly enjoyed ourselves.

Big, Clean and Lovely!

The Laurels is a lovely big family house very clean well maintained a great place for a family holiday it had everything we needed plenty of toys and games for babies up to teenager, lots of space to chill out, plenty of room for family meals if needed, but also within walking distance to great pubs and shops. Bishops Castle is a beautiful small town nice walks around the town and within easy reach of fun days out for all the family.

THE BEST HOLIDAY COTTAGE EVER!

The Laurels is THE best cottage that we have ever rented and it deserves a higher rating. The housekeeper Pat, who is a member of the owner's family was wonderfully welcoming and very, very helpful. Nothing was too much trouble for her. Everywhere was spotlessly clean and it was the best equipped place we have ever stayed. We celebrated our Golden Wedding Anniversary there with our immediate family (11 of us) and we had an outside caterer for the occasion, recommended by the owner. That too, was a wonderful meal. The location is great too for exploring beautiful Shropshire. We can't rate the Laurels highly enough - and can't wait to go again

TOTALLY EVERYTHING!

Totally brilliant. The house was amazing and the owner Tim and housekeeper pat could not have done more for us. We loved it and it was more than we'd hoped for. Ideal for all the children with lots of space and an amazing garden. The location was brilliant and the whole holiday was fantastic. We'll be back!
