  • "This was my third stay at the Barn, and we've have booked again for a weekend in November."

The barn is beautiful, with everything you could wish for during a rural retreat. We went to celebrate my husband's 70th birthday, and we couldn't have found anywhere better. We went with our family, and the children were thrilled with the Games Shack, and the dog loved the walks - he needed hosing down before going into the house - the doggy towels provided were extremely welcome. Jo, our host, made our evening meal on Saturday night - delicious, and the home made bread didn't make it to the following lunchtime. A lovely weekend for us all to remember. Surprisingly, the weather was good too!

The Barn has wonderful views of the surrounding countryside and inside is such a warm and welcoming interior , The kitchen has everything to cook meals and is cosy to sit at the large table and chat and all the rooms are individually tasteful. There is a lovely sauna and the hot tub was great after a long day's walking. The Games Shack was fantastic with numerous games and entertainment. A truely amazing place to spend a few days with the family and dog.

Jo and Gyles have gone the extra mile to ensure the house was packed with loads of added extras for both humans and 4 legged friends, truly there was nothing we needed for the whole week. The hot tub, sauna and games room were a welcome addition and we made use of them frequently. There was plenty of space for the little ones to run around and the dogs particularly enjoyed playing Frisby in the field. Thanks again for a great week and we look forward to visiting again.

  • "We stayed at Pastures Barn In January 2023 and what a fabulous week we had."

The holiday was booked as a surprise for our Mums 60th Birthday and we stayed here as a family. Pastures Barn really had the Wow factor. The barn is in a stunning location with amazing views (you can even see the sun set from the kitchen windows) and there are lovely walks right on your doorstep. The barn is beautifully clean and the décor throughout is beautiful and very tastefully designed. Every attention is given to detail. The facilities were absolutely outstanding, fully equipped kitchen, with every type of utensil you could need, a beautiful range cooker (which again was immaculate inside and out). The hot tub, sauna and steam room were a lovely added extra, we loved just sitting in the hot tub and admiring the views, (even robes were provided) and the games room was absolutely brilliant. We had lots of fun as a family in the games room, which offers table tennis, hockey table, table football, pool table, karaoke etc. Even in the games room the décor was carefully thought out, which didn’t go unmissed. Even photos were on the wall to show the stages of how the barns had all been converted, this is something we all appreciated and enjoyed looking at. The owners Jo & Giles contacted me the day before our stay and were very attentive and welcoming, if we needed anything we were able to contact them (of course we didn’t need anything! Everything a guest could need and more had already been provided.) But this was a lovely added touch from both of them. If you would like a bit of peace and tranquillity and luxury Pastures Barn is for you! A fantastic place to stay to get away from the world! We look forward to staying here again! Special thanks to Jo & Giles for helping to make our Mums 60th Birthday memorable!

The bottle pf prosecco was a welcome touch and an apt way to start our adventure there. The kitchen was absolutely spotless as was every other room in the house. Seriously, it felt like we were the first people to stay here - ever! AMAZING!! We booked Pasture Barn for our family celebration for 4 nights surrounding Christmas Day and it was our home from home which far exceeded our expectations. From the moment we arrived the wow factor was overwhelming as we explored the property. The attention to detail and provision of extras that we didn’t even know we needed until we needed them was awesome. To name a few extras, the welcome hamper, fizz, extra disposable cooking trays to make sure Christmas cooking was covered, board games, dog treats, bowls, extra towels, to clean them down after long walks, which were stored in the shed along with numerous outdoor activity game sets. The kitchen was stunning, stocked with various extra items just in case we needed something, well laid out and easily handled volume of the Christmas day dinner preparation. The American fridge freezer was able to store all the food without the worry of nowhere to put anything once our Asda delivery arrived. The lounge was comfy with 3 sofas, modern log fire and a fantastic size for all the family. The bedrooms and bathrooms were cosy and modern. The games barn is something that was a real treat, the owners have really created something that the whole family can enjoy, the pictures on the site look great but once you see it in person it is a real treat, hours of family fun. As two couples, one with a baby and the other with a dog, the barn was a perfect hideaway for the week. This took the guess work out of what we needed to bring and was extremely helpful (Thanks Jo!). On arrival, we were greeted with a bottle of prosecco and a lovely handmade hamper full of goodies. Jo had also messaged prior to our stay to ask if we’d like the Christmas decorations putting up, which we thought was a lovely added touch to our stay. The barn has been renovated to an extremely high standard giving it a lovely home from home feeling… not to mention, serious house envy!! The little extras like the tassimo machine, wine fridge, dressing gowns and towels for hot tub and the dogs were a nice touch too. We came with our 9 year old son, our 2 good friends & a dog each between us. (Tilly & Daisy) The drive up alone is beautiful with the cottages set in a prime position on the edge of the peak district. The location was perfect for us with Dovedale, Bakewell & Buxton all within 30 min(ish) drive through the most breathtaking views and winding (and steep!) roads. My husband and I even took off to the roads for a run like no other we've ever experienced, very worth it! The cottage was absolutely stunning. The amount of thought and little extra touches really made our stay very special, from the welcome hamper, dog treats, dog blankets, hot tub towels & dressing gowns (and towels generally!) Coffee machines, washer, dryer & a wine fridge were all unexpected fab extras. The decor throughout was tasteful & very homely. The kitchen truly was the heart of the home and we found we spent alot of time there (a cup of coffee in the morning enjoying those views was a highlight of mine) The bedrooms were gorgeous and the beds were super comfy. The bathrooms were second to none. The games room was a hit and evenings would find the boys down there quicker than we could blink. What a great selection of games there too! Being heated and having a bathroom down there made the world of difference. I loved propping the bar up and listen to our music over the bluetooth karaoke machine too. The hot tub was a personal favourite, perfectly positioned, private, easy to use, spacious with incredible views! We all had a memorable, very comfortable & enjoyable stay at this cottage that lives and breathes a homely, welcoming feel & we most definitely will be back!

I was really pleased with my booking. The barn was better than i expected. Spotlessly clean & tidy everything seemed brand new. Very homely & welcoming. Everything thought out and planned so well down to a folder with all local activities which we found extremely helpful. 10/10 would definitely recommend & definitely be back for another stay. Xx

  • "What a fantastic place!"

This holiday was truly lovely, the place was truly spotless, had all the little things you need that you don't always find, like handwash, oil, tea and coffee stuff and a lovely little welcome hamper. They even had a spare toothbrush in the welcome pack just in-case anyone forgot one. Everything was thought of and clearly labelled and the house itself was done out to such a high standard we have come home with serious house envy! The games room was a fantastic facility, the hot tub and sauna were lush and the showers really powerful. There were different kinds of games secreted about for all occasions, including a full badminton set you could put up! the gardens were lovely and there was a fab bbq with everything it needed to use included, which prompted us to get the extended family round for the day. It was awesome to get all the grownups playing in the games room too, it's not often we get chance to let go and have fun like that. Our two dogs were also clearly thought of, from dog towels and spare poo bags to a jar of treats and they were very happy while we were there. The owners were great at responding to our queries and were very pleasant to deal with. It was genuinely the nicest and most relaxing holiday we have been on in such a long time. We definitely want to come back again. Thank you for a beautiful week Pastures Barn. We were not ready to go home!

  • "Our holiday at Pastures Barn was amazing."

Every detail had been considered by the owners even down to hand wash in every bathroom and fry light for cooking. On arrival we were welcomed with a fantastic hamper of local produce, Prosecco and beer in the fridge. The views from the barn are truly spectacular especially whilst relaxing in the hot tub after spending the day walking across the hills. In all honesty we have never stayed in a property with so much attention to detail, it really was home from home. We took our two dogs with us who are very lively and enjoy to get muddy during their many walks, this was no problem at Pastures Barn as everything was available to ensure even the pooches were pampered. The owners also looked after the dogs during one of our days out and treated them like their own. On our return home we all had holiday blues and can’t wait to another stay here. I can’t recommend this property enough, you truly will not be disappointed.

  • "Pastures barn was impeccable, both internally and externally."

Very spacious for the 6 of us who stayed and the kitchen / dining area was fantastic! The internal built in speaker system to 3 rooms was a hit with the kids as was the games room outside and especially the hot tub & sauna in the private garden area! Easy access to Alton Towers a bonus. A great week away for the full family, 5 star!

  • "Our stay at Pastures Barn was a pleasure from start to finish, the only disappointment was we weren't staying longer!"

The directions provided by the owners were clear and we researched the approach on Street View; a worthwhile activity to show just what a transformation the property has undergone. Leek is easy to access for shopping and the town centre worth exploring. The Peak National Park is a relatively short drive and every trip through that area is a sight seeing excursion. The conversion of the buildings is extremely well done and to a high standard, the exterior is sympathetic to the rural setting but the interior is contrastingly modern. It worked very well. The layout of the two cottages is well done to provide easy vehicle access and laid out to keep the respective gardens sufficiently private while using the much enjoyed Sauna and Hot Tub. The garden is also fenced in to keep our small but rather nosey dog contained and the owner had provided a few conveniences to help keep the property pet friendly whilst keeping the inevitable mess out doors. The owner had also left us a much appreciated welcome pack for the first evening. All in all we had a great trip, thanks
