Cae Caled Cottage in Denbighshire

It is a beautiful place in lovely surroundings. The owners, and their dogs, were very friendly. The bed was brilliant, better than ours at home.

The cottage and location were perfect with stunning views and there are lovely walks from the cottage, we didn't use our car all week. Our little dog was made very welcome by the owners and it was a pleasure to have their dogs visiting us regularly.

We enjoyed the peace and quiet, and the tranquil, beautiful surroundings - superb grounds. Easy access to rest of North Wales. A comfortable and well equipped cottage. We liked the hospitality of the owners, and that the property was dog-friendly.

The owners were present but unobtrusive and very relaxed and friendly. The setting was beautiful and so peaceful. After several years of heartache and difficulties, I returned from my holiday in Cae Caled cottage feeling relaxed and refreshed. It is a haven and one we will return regularly over the years.

Lovely setting, our son and dog loved the surroundings. Gorgeous comfy bed and massive bath. Really cosy and comfy place to relax. Great location for exploring the Welsh coastline and hills.

Superb location with fine views and easy access to hill walks. The Cottage was a real treat, lots of character, spacious and tastefully decorated.

Very relaxing and very quiet with good walks on the doorstep. At one with nature and not far to Chester or the coast, and fishing on the lake in the grounds.

The Cottage was a peaceful haven for me and my dog. There are beautiful views from the Cottage and one can walk down to the river through the fields.

What a lovely place to stay, quiet and relaxing and within easy reach of some beautiful sights.

The cottage is the most perfect place for a romantic get away. The wildlife are very entertaining, chickens, guinea fowl and swans sharing the garden. Even though it wasnt that warm, we were still able to enjoy a swim in the pool. The hosts are about but dont bother you. The bathromm is fantastic massive double bed. Its just a very magical place. Loved it, cant wait to return

This is a beautiful cottage attached to the main house and has lovely views of fields and hills from the french windows and bedroom balcony. It's at the end of a long narrow country lane (lots of potholes, so drive very slowly and carefully!) and is so peaceful.

The cottage has been tastefully renovated, with a hand crafted wooden spiral staircase and 6ft bed. The owners are very friendly and helpful and we would thoroughly recommend this place if you want a quiet and/or romantic getaway. (Although the guinea-fowl was a bit noisy in the morning sometimes!)

Plenty of places to visit nearby, castles, walks etc.

The cottage is beautifully situated and very well equipped. There are wonderful views from all windows and a great sun-trap outside where you can bask in the sunshine. The owners live in the adjoining farmhouse and were very friendly and attentive. We enjoyed trips to Snowdonia - check out the Welsh Slate Museum at Llanberis (free entry) and Llangollen has plenty of attractions.

The cottage was very well equiped for holiday let, and comfortable too. The furniture was in good condition and of good quality, and the bed was really comfortable.
The views were fantastic.

A very cosy, warm cottage & a Warm Welcome from Hugh to match ! Set in beautiful, tranquil surroundings Cae Caled is the perfect escape from the hustle & bustle of city life, yet Denbigh is only a short drive away. We took our dog along, he loved roaming safe & free in the fields & gardens surrounding the cottage, Hugh was more than happy for him to do this. We didn't get chance to take a dip in the pool, hardly the weather in October, but we could see the pool would be very tempting during the summer. The open plan design of the cottage was lovely and if the weather had been kinder to us we'd have loved to throw open the large patio doors and sit looking across the fields over breakfast or a glass of wine in the evening. As it was October we chose to snuggle by the log burning fire, we lit some candles and created a home from home - perfect ! As for the bedroom - what a huge comfortable bed, we struggled to leave its snugness especially on one winters morning while we listened to wind & rain beat down around us - the bath is also large & deep and perfect for soaking your aching muscles after a long day walking. The cottage was very clean, homely, warm and perfect to return to after a long day exploring North Wales and everything Wales has to offer. We would definitely return and highly recommend to others ! Thank You Hugh & Linda for providing a much needed relaxing time & Thank You for the drinks you bought us at the Kimnel Arms - a very nice touch and Zac loved the fact they were all so very dog friendly - We found the food & hospitality there was perfect too !!

The cottage is beautiful and well equipped and the location is little short of perfection. The owners are on site and friendly and helpful.

If you need to get away and have a complete break then this is the place to go. Take plenty of books and good food and wine, walk the spectacular scenery in the day, light the log burner and cosy up at night.

It was a wonderful experience and I shall return.

A faultless cottage. Clean and well equipped, warm and inviting. Perfect for a week away from it all. Plenty big enough for the 2 of us and our 2 border collies. Lovely garden area for the dogs to run around freely.

This area of North Wales is stunning. The views from the patio doors both in the living area and the bedroom are awesome. You are never far from the remote hills, quaint villages, or bustling towns. The cottage is ideally located whatever your pastime may be.

The owners were delightful and helpful and have a clear pride in their beautiful property which is immaculate.

I have no hesitation in recommending this cottage to anyone. We will definitely return...hopefully soon.

Had a lovely week at Cae Caled Cottage. This was a tastefully renovated cottage with ample space and very comfortable. It was a great place to stay, private and we were made welcome including the dog.

The cottage was immaculate and the surroundings were lovely. It was a very relaxing week.

The location of the property was very peaceful and scenic. It was very nice to be able to fish on site and we did catch tea. The dog enjoyed all the freedom in the adjacent meadows.

It was very relaxing, beautiful scenery and animals around were brilliant. The owners were very friendly and non intrusive making it a perfect place for two.

The cottage was absolutely perfect, definitely a 5 star property. The location was also wonderful with access to so many walks and good pubs nearby. The dog enjoyed the freedom he had in the large garden and surrounding fields.

The location of the property was excellent, down a country lane away from the hussle and bustle of the main roads, which meant it was very quiet and peaceful.

We went seeking peaceful relaxation - to lose ourselves for the week and celebrate our 30th Wedding Anniversary. We found all of this and so much more. We could not have found a more suitable cottage. We will definitely be back.

I can't imagine a better cottage to explore from, it is stunning and very, very well kitted out. It was wonderful knowing that while it was freezing outside we were lovely and warm, stoking the fire inside! Beautiful.

This cottage was so perfect, relaxing and romantic I brought my plans for a proposal forward from next year to this week away. The grounds of the farm and the surrounding country side were beautiful and I proposed down by the river, which was the perfect location - and of course she said yes! The cottage could not have been more perfect. The bed is amazing to look at and even better to sleep in!

The cottage was set in an idyllic location, thoughtfully designed, attentive, but unobtrusive owners and a good base to go exploring the wonderful area of North Wales and beyond.

Nice location with scenic views and not to far but far enough from town! Good walks in the local area. We were made to feel very welcome and the fresh asparagus was the best we've ever tasted!
